Is Homophobia Associated With Homosexual Arousal ??

Reading this I was reminded of the negative rep that Philbert left for me a while back, where he also left this comment:

"Keep your gay self away from me...I don't find you the least bit attractive. Actually, you give me the creeps..."

Synopsis:

Department of Psychology, University of Georgia, Athens 30602-3013, USA.

The authors investigated the role of homosexual arousal in exclusively heterosexual men who admitted negative affect toward homosexual individuals. Participants consisted of a group of homophobic men (n = 35) and a group of nonhomophobic men (n = 29); they were assigned to groups on the basis of their scores on the Index of Homophobia (W. W. Hudson & W. A. Ricketts, 1980). The men were exposed to sexually explicit erotic stimuli consisting of heterosexual, male homosexual, and lesbian videotapes, and changes in penile circumference were monitored. They also completed an Aggression Questionnaire (A. H. Buss & M. Perry, 1992). Both groups exhibited increases in penile circumference to the heterosexual and female homosexual videos. Only the homophobic men showed an increase in penile erection to male homosexual stimuli. The groups did not differ in aggression. Homophobia is apparently associated with homosexual arousal that the homophobic individual is either unaware of or denies.

Behind the religious bigots who designate policy regarding "faggotry" there is often found faggotry.

Go gays.

This harkens back to the days when you would pick on the girl in school you liked just to get everyone else to think that you infact didnt like her. It's the same situation here, closet gay's taking up homophobic attitudes in order to hide themselves from their true feelings.

I dont think they can state all homophobia stems from homosexual feelings as they have alluded to in the abstract,
Homophobia is apparently associated with homosexual arousal that the homophobic individual is either unaware of or denies.
they cannot be that certain, but I'm sure they're right that there is a fair percentage of people who feel the need to rebel against what they are.

I think this is on the whole quite true. You can always tell the most heterosexual males are the ones who are not homophobic at all.

And as they are so sure and comfortable with their own sexuality, they harbor zero aggression towards gay men, are not uncomfortable talking to them and often have gay friends.

I've separately and knowingly slept with half a dozen gay fellas - I mean slept, not fucked - and never had a problem with it. I might have shared beds with gay fellas who were never out of the closet. I sometimes go to gay clubs and have a good time. Some of my friends are gay. My kids might be, and I can't say that wouldn't care.

But I'm straight and I love my wife (and fancy her) and I really like women a lot! I don't hate gay men or women. Life's too short.

I had a gay friend in college whom I was comfortable being around with. He was concerned that his homosexuality may be a problem in our friendship but I told him that I have zero problem with it and we got along just fine. I think if you are blind to the hatred you have for gays, you ignore the real reason behind that hatred. Gays are no different than you and me. So they like the kind of people you don't like, so what? They aren't forcing you to like what they like so why should you?

While I also have and have had several friends who were openly gay, I find closet gays who lust after me very creepy. My nephew is very openly gay, and we all love him the same as if he was hetero. My family is open and loving, making no distinction between one family member's sexuality and another's.

Facial-King's very homophobic attempts at insulting myself and stampede were a specific use of homophobia to imply something wrong with homosexuality...something very creepy from an obvious closet gay.
I am not gay, and find men unattractive sexually...the same way many gay men find pussy revolting but aren't averse to hetero men and women on a person to person level.
The same way most men here wouldn't find it wrong or weird for a woman to get creeped out by a man they found unattractive following them around and drooling, using inuendo to suggest having sex with them, I find a gay man trying to hook up with me creepy and unwanted, even online...especially when I am obviously a raging hetero.
That article seems to describe to a "T" Facial-Kings fixation and often overreactive frustration towards myself and stampede; his use of specific homophobic insults leave that quite clear. That is why I had to tell him to knock it off...no other reason beyond an obvious unhealthy fixation towards the two of us beyond a conflict of philosophy.
Read his indepth dissertation on my balls, and their size...his comments on our being "butt-buddies", etc, and there isn't any doubt someone with the initials F-K has a "closet" mentality.

This is an inappropriate discussion of sexuality when it is specifically targeted towards a member...and pretty much a thin line between intolerance and petty insult.

What's the definition of "homophobia"? I'm not afraid of homosexuals nor do I hate them. I think they should have the right to exist and have equal protection under the law. On the other hand I don't like them and don't want to hang around them. Their sexual practices, at least for men, disgust me and I defiantly don't feel aroused by them.

It wouldn't surprise me if some homophobes are closet homo- or bisexuals. That applies to men as well as women, although I'm guessing that homophobia is a lot more common among men.

As for me, I consider myself a straight guy. I don't have any problems with homosexuals nor bisexuals. I'll even admit that I think some men have attractive faces, but having sex with another man doesn't appeal to me at all.

When it comes to American male homophobia, male-to-female trannies seem to confront them moreso than actual gays this days. Trannies are the ones they react worse to, because 1. they challenge their whole idea of what it is to be a a man 2. they consider trannies just gay men trying to "fool" or make them attracted to them 3. they fear if there is an attraction, this could mean they are "gay."

For example, I live in a neighborhood where a lot of the people have no lifes, so they all know me as the neighborhood tranny. You just have to see just how much passion I provoke on some neantherdals to believe it!!
One man was going to have a heart attack yelling at me "f**king f**ot" (of course, their p-brains don't even comprehend the difference between being gay and being a tranny) while I was just walking minding my own business. Then I go to a totally different neighborhood where nobody knows me, and I have all this men hitting on me and telling me how attractive I am. Go figure.
It always amazes me the passion I provoke on some homophobes, just for being myself and perhaps for being damn good at it!!:1orglaugh

If you are so concerned with what other people do with their lives and their asses, then you are the one with the issues!!

Dislike of male-to-female transvestites may not be entirely due to irrational homophobia. No one who began life as a biological male can ever offer bonafide vaginal sex. I know that I'd be disappointed if I discovered that a "woman" I found attractive had actually been born with a penis. Essentially, that represents one less option for sexual activities. Plus the replacement of a genital area that interests me with one that doesn't.

Some guys might be fine with that, and I say more power to them (for those like me who find anal sex too risky and/or too involved, there are still plenty of options: sliding the penis through the valley between the ass cheeks, "frotting," oral sex, handjobs, etc). I'm just not one of them.

First of all, transsexuals are not transvestites. Transvestites are people who dress up as the opposite sex for sexual gratification, and most transvestites are heterosexual males and to a lesser degree, homosexual "drag queens." Transvestism has nothing to do with your gender identity, but about what gets you off. Transsexuals on the other hand have the whole gender identity of the other sex. Think about it, your identity as a man or a woman is not just about what clothes you wear.

You had be amazed by what the surgery can do nowadays. And besides that, the penis and the vagina are pretty much the same thing. They originated from the same tissue. In normal XY fetuses, for example, testosterone triggers the virilization of the genitals. What are the ovaries in women differentiate into testes and descend in men, what is the labia in women closes and becomes the scrotum (that's why males have a vertical line on their scrotum), and the clitoris enlarges and becomes the penis. Further virilization, such as enlargement of the penis, etc., occurs later in puberty under the influence of higher levels of testosterone.
Sexual reassignment surgery is merely about reversing the virilizing effects of testosterone. For instance, in the abscence or lack of sensitivity to testosterone, the male fetus will be born with a vagina.

Also, just because you wouldn't have sex with a male-to-female transsexual, that doesn't mean you have to personally dislike and/or be vicious towards us. If you are dissapointed someone you liked turned out to be transgendered, then just move on. When you hit on someone, is always a risk you are taking...you don't know this person.

Hmmm, so according to facial, philbert is very possibly a homosexual in a state of denial.
basing this analysis on a comment and a study done in Georgia.

Now I question what might a person be who accuses another of being homosexual based on a comment and a study done in Georgia?
