Hall video cameras, if you don't have them yet, would be a good move. Also, I would try to find a witness to how you were treated by the parents the next day, as well as the racket they caused the evening before.

I do have to say that people are using the "racism" word to the point it has little meaning among people any more. Furthermore, it's finally getting to the point that using the word could be considered racism itself, because in a professional environment, it may be taken as an accusation of hate or even a hate crime.

... to the United States.I threw some kids out of the hotel last night. They were blaring music, wrestling in the halls and being dicks. Our long term guests were getting tired of it and threatening to leave and I had already warned the kids a couple times by now, so I tossed them out.
7:30am rolls around and the kids came back with their parents demanding their money back and saying I was dropping n bombs on them and only kicked them out because they were black. :1orglaugh They even used my appearance (shaved head) to try and help their cause. They were screaming at me in the lobby calling me racist in front of everybody. It was pretty embarrassing.
In the end, we didn't refund them shit and they are threatening to sue us. The father and his sons said they are going to find out my hours and "kick my teeth in" when I get off work one day. I'm shaking in my boots. :rofl: The mom grabbed our hospitality award trophy and smashed it on the ground. I thought that was funny.
I forgot to mention that they booked through HotWire. So they were only paying half the price of the room anyway. WTF is wrong with people? How pathetic can you be?

Errm I'm not sure how it works in the states being from the UK. But is that not (1) Defamation of character and (2) Criminal damage? And that's not even taking into account the threatening behaviour. Sounds like you have a by far better chance of sueing them successfully than the other way around.

Racism is a word that is thrown out so much now that it has lost a lot of its meaning. I have seen people get called racist for things that have nothing to do with race. I wouldn't worry about it. Like some have already said there is no shortage of assholes and no one race has a lock on it.

That is the way to go in future. Install a little cam or two in the back wall of the counter and you can always show for proof the tapes of customers trying to get a shot at leeching money out of such issues
