I just had this happen to me a couple of days ago...for the third time.
The first time it happened a few months ago,and I almost shit my pants.I actually formatted my hard drive and wiped everything clean.
The second and third time were both a couple of days ago.Just go to safe mode and run msconfig.From there,disable all of your startup options,and you actually should see something that looks suspicious.For me,it was starting up something that was written in Russian,presumably,that was the Ransomware.
I then downloaded Malwarebytes and did a full system scan.It found 34 issues and removed them all....I hope.
