Although I believe I understand the rationale behind spreading rep, I would find another way of preventing rep abuse. I ought to be able to "rep" someone based on the criteria I feel appropriates rep. Conversely what happens is I want to apply rep to what I feel a rep-worthy post but can't because I've recently repped the poster...resulting in me forgetting to rep the person their due when I can.

I would start by immediately closing this thread. Not quietly closing the thread with the little button they have but I would make it a point to post on how I was closing the thread. I would also include the word CLOSED in bold letters so everyone knew the thread was closed. I might even include a small diatribe on how starting a thread like this is a thinly veiled attempt to tell me how to do my job.
