If you want any real power just become the CEO of a bank or an oil company.
I think it's the prestige and power I want.
The world of cults needs a bit of a makeover and there hasn't been a decent Jim Jones like figure around for a while, why don't you pick it up where he left off? He had power and prestige, did he not? And it'd be far easier to become a cult leader than it would be to become president I assure you.
Modern man needs to be lead, otherwise he's headless.
I want the prestige and power that comes with the presidency, hows that.
To have any real chance of becoming president in the last 130 years on into the future one has to sell out their own people, metaphorically sell their soul, and become corrupt. (It's about the same for every other high level elected position also.) Even then that person would need to be tremendously lucky. It's not worth it.

Am I crazy for wanting to become President of the United States? I'm only 20 so I have alot of time until this could become reality but ever since I was a kid I've aspired to become President. Also I've been giving some thought to running for alderman once I graduate college. You never know I could become the first Latino president of the United States.

If I were president, I would have scaled back our presence in Afghanistan. I wouldn't have sent 40,00 more troops instead I would have put an emphasis on rooting out Al Qaeda from strongholds along the Pakistan border using Predator drone strikes, special forces and other tactics. While the focus would shift to Pakistan, U.S. forces would accelerate training of Afghan troops to take on the Taliban.
