Far as I was aware, Bungie owned the halo franchise.
you were wrong then
By "MS" I assume you refer to Microsoft, are you expecting them to click their fingers and have Bungie crank out another game?
no bungie has already signed with Activision for 10years now
Bungie was in agreement with MS first but they ended it as they wanted to make other games
MS has set up 343 Industries studios to deal with future HALO games and other things HALO related
There is no where left for Halo to go. ODST seemed to open the window to plenty of other story avenues, halo wars opened another market in the RTS series.
they will come up with something
they will open some new secrets with HALO REACH to use in future HALO games
MS has alot of help from SONY with their high price PS3 this gen.as PS4 isn't going to be high price,MS will need big hitters like HALO
(Despite Halo reach selling far less than any other halo game, it was still largely well recieved).
??????????????????
halo reach heasn't been released till now
Halo is not a world that revolves around the master chief, hes just one part, albeit a significant one in the story of a war thats last 20 years. Halo has always proved it has one of the richest storylines in the gaming world, read the books and you will see what I mean.
it has a good one but nowhere near one of the best or richest
and abt master chief, even though he isn't only one but he is what started the series so he will always be most important
It has plenty of potential left,
thats what i have been trying to tell you
but you have to be careful or you will milk it to far and Halo will lose its reputation and become a parent to alot of unwanted bastard kid spin offs.
yeah but a game every 3 years is ok
but they have to stop with the ODST and HALOWARS.
but MS needed it last year to compete with the PS3 and Wii
In regards to the chiefs open ending, hes not the cliche movie hero. He has no girl waiting for him (His relationship to Cortana is the most significant he has had with a female - with exception of Halsey), he has no life to go back to - war was his life and hes not riding ride off into the sunset to looking for the next fight.
why are you even mentioning all this?
as for master chief,he is considered a mediocre hero.
You can hope and pray and yearn for a Halo 4, but there wont be one.
there sure will be.
it will be in 2013,one year after XBOX 720's 2012 release.
PS4 is gunned for release in 2013 and MS will do every bit to spoil the party
Okay, you might have spin offs, the legendary ending of ODST left a few unanswered questions so there is again potential for more there. I really enjoyed Nathan Fillion as the main character and would happily see him come back. Hell there is even the potential for a game as the sarge, given his colourful past.
there will be spin offs but they don't make much impact as a numbered HALO game.
and master chief will be there in HALO 4.HALO fans really like him and so they will purchase console to play it
Ultimately, the question is do we want a halo 4? To be honest, no. Think of the last time you had a favourite movie, now did that movie have a shit sequel?
actually mine is Star Wars 4 and it had a pretty awesome sequel.
Did that shit sequel impact your love of the first?
gaming isn't like movies
yeah the sequel might not be the best but it doesn't get hated like movie sequels do as developers don't go over the top like in hollywood
yeah it happens to some franchises like NFS,COD,etc
but other franchises like Gran Turismo,Grand Theft Auto,Metal Gear Solid, etc keep improving their game
It did for me. Halo 3, it was not the epic we had hoped for, but it did tie up the loose ends nicely.
Let it go.
I am ready to let it go as i am not even a HALO fan but MS won't let it go
I have been tracking sales and gaming for a long times and know what companies do to keep their sales going and HALO is MS's biggest weapon and they aren't gonna let it go,atleast not for another generation of consoles
