A few days ago I ordered a new DAP wich I recieved today. It's a Cowon Iaudio S9 and I absolutely love it. It has amazing sound quality, especially combined with the Shure in-ear headphones I ordered with it. It's far better than one of those crappy Ipods. I've been encoding cd's to OGG @ quality setting 8 all day and it still isn't full (I bought the 32 GB version). This is definitely one of the best buys ever.

I just connect it to the USB port on my computer. It shows up as a removable harddrive and I just drag and drop files onto it. They couldn't have made it easier.

I don't know about limewire but it can play some youtube video's but that's not why I bought it. I bought it mainly because of the sound quality.

I want to put a cd onto my mp3 player, oh wait I gots to put it onto itunes first then transfer it to my player!
Ipods are for people that fetishize technology. There are plenty of MP3 players out there which are the equal, if not better, but they haven't been marketed so well/don't look as 'cool'.

As far as I'm concerned, iTunes makes transferring and organizing music on my player easier. Apple isn't for everybody. I should have said, IMO, nothing will ever come close.

Surely Cown is great for sound (never heard of it) but...WTF you're wearing a brick in your pocket... I love my 8gb piano black Ipod Nano... and let me say it this way... I don't think anyone needs more quality than 128kbps mp3 to listen Beyonce or Lady Gaga...

Agreed. I love Ipods and Itunes. My friend has a Sony MP3 but I prefer Apple software.
