Dont have anything importnent on your PC.... i am almoust 100% shore that iv got something on my PC some trojan or virus ... but there is nothing on my PC that is importnent for me....

And i Think that u all can find some other way to keep yours importnent stuff,,,...

And By the way that prob when u pulled the plugg in middle of download well its usual problem when u simply dont know whats wrong.... And the first thing i allways do is to reeboot.... (last time a 30 min ago connection died and now after reeboot its working)... I think u acted the same as i shold act in that situation....

sorry to hear that goblin. I systematically update my antivirus and firewall. I check my pc with adaware and spybot after everyday of surfing.Btw I check my pc systematically with nav every 2 days. Glad that all now is back in order and works for you.

Goblin. And other intrested. I dont know how the xDSL system works in US. But I can give you one hot advice that will kill most of the evil shit you get from the internet. A router with firewall. 3Com 857 is superb for novice or newbie computer users. Just plugin and play. Everything preset, easy menus and good manual. The only thing this router doesnt protect you against are the pop-ups saying "Agree to see porn" but for those you use a limited account.

Goblin, I read in your opening post that your homepage was being reset to about:blank, you should try a small program called cwshredder (google it, go to the proper cool web site and download it) as it should at least fix that bit. I think you may have had a parasite called coolwebpromotions which is a gateway to a whole load of other rubbish. try it as it picks up stuff that adaware (which isnt very good anyway) and spybot miss. Adaware and Spybot etc wont get rid of coolwebpromotions, sometimes it cant even see it.
