I am most certainly qualified to comment here. I have been here as long as you have. Seen lots of activity and express my views as a consumer rather than a supplier. Papagmp, I don't know who you you are who you represent. But based upon the models that I have seen posted here on a regular basis, I can say that the person that you are looking to defend does not reflect the activity, or the communities interests of this board or this marketing tool named FreeOnes.
OK - you are certainly "qualified to comment here". I just read the board rules and nowhere does it require any knowledge of anything in order to "be qualified to post here" (That's probably a good thing because I'd be banned in a heart beat if I had to have knowledge of a subject before I commented on it) but I did get the impression, maybe falsely, that you your understanding of what it's like for the ladies in this industry, varied widely from mine. And I'm willing to bet that there aren't more than a handful of active forum members that are in a better position to understand what it's like to be an OSCM than I am (other than the OSCM's themselves).
As for me, I represent myself. It's no secret that, as an "Approved Content Owner", I own or produce my own adult content. Most people also know that I own three websites, where I finance, schedule, recruit & hire talent and crew, direct, preform for and do all post-production tasks, including most of our marketing. So when it comes to understanding OSCM's, one of which is my roommate, three of which are personal friends and half a dozen of which I've actually worked with, I'm probably slightly more qualified than the average board member to see how your post looked to them. Although even I screw that up sometimes.
I'm not sure where I gave the impression that I was trying to defend a "person" as opposed to the collective group of OSCM's and other talent that works in the industry - but to clarify I'm defending, if you want to call it that, the general pool of adult talent, including myself. It get's real old to continually hear people make statements about how simple it is for a porn model. In reality, their job carries pressures and stresses that are difficult for people outside the industry to understand. And most people tend to thing porn models make a lot more $$$ than than they do. Hell, my editor has earned more money this year than any of my models. Sure the models make more per hour but finding regular work can be real difficult.
OSCM is a title that is used to identify female members that have worked or are working in the industry and verify that the same individual is the one posting under the OSCM account. No where that I've read does it say that these girls have to be "stars". The purpose of having the OSCM title is to ensure that members can be reasonably sure that we are talking to the person they claim to be.
Each OSCM comes here for different reasons. Those that have their own sites, come here for much the same reason that I do. We use FreeOnes to promote our own products directly. For example, Dirty Little Holley has her
own website so cultivating fans here at FreeOnes may be one of her goals. Other models may not have their own sites and may just come here to see their fans. Bottom line is fans get to interface with models in a way unique to FreeOnes.
One should also remember that where normal FreeOnes members can remain anonymous on this board, OSCM's and Approved Content Owners have to reveal a bit more about themselves. One click on my signature link and you get a fair idea of who I am. I feel this is a good thing but it makes us, especially the girls, a bit more vulnerable.
I'm also fairly qualified to comment as a consumer of porn as I and own a collection that spans 30 years and consists of over 12,000 titles.
Anyway - let's be nice to our "Stars" - even if they are not yet superstars.
