Hurricane Hanna ha barely!

All over news stations in philly and soulth jersey. Be prepared, go shopping, stay indoors, dont go out unless you need to. Once again the weather stations blow up the weather forecast. 30-45mph winds (didnt reach 20mph) Strong rain from 1 to 8 pm (30 minutes at most all day) Now saying it will stop raining by 6pm Why do the weather stations feel the need to blow the weather out of proportion? They do the exact same thing with snow. Hey there will be a snow stormtomarow get ready for a pounding 6 inches. THATSNOT A LOT! You are not going to be stuck inside so dont go to the food store! They predict 6 inches of snow we get 2 inches.

I DONT EVEN BTHER LISTENING TO THSE JACKASSES ANYMORE. HOW CAN YOU TRUST THEM? YOU CANT!

What with the 'inconvenient truth' of global warming, weather isnt as predictable as it used to be. Computers simulate it all and spit out a few numbers and the weathermen report that.

Now seeing as you might be in Florida.. FOR FUCKS SAKE MOVE AWAY! THE STATE IS RIPE WITH DISASTER!

The weathermen have good reason to be scared, every time a hurricane comes around, it seems to always pass thru Florida. You'd cry wolf too if you'd been bitten a couple times already by the big bad hurricane.

Its wind Man!!! Its unpredictable, meteorology is not an exact science its an art, sometimes you produce a masterpiece sometimes you produce crap (does that metaphor work? probably not).

You cannot make an accurate assumption on what is going to happen with the weather because its so unpredictable, wind, rain, sun etc when the time is correct and everything is perfect one of these things will happen, can someone tell you exactly when this is going to happen? No. They can guess. But thats all.

i think its one of those things where its better to be safe than sorry. its kind of their responsibility to let u know what might happen. if they said dont worry about it and something andrew or katrina hit you, wouldnt you be pissed? seriously, no one is ever 100% right but hey, you were prepared, right?

I'm from NJ,its raining off and on pretty hard here with some flooding predicted in some spots. But nothing too overwhelming.Ike is the next BIG storm a category 4 right now and predicted to take a path to go into the gulf which threatens NO and that area or it may hit Florida. But wherever it hits its goona do big time damage.

I think weather forecasters tend to stay conservative and make predictions more towards it being on the storms worse case scenario. That way if they are right then nobody will be mad at them. If it comes out better than they say then people will tend to be happier than the alternative. If they err on the side of having it come better than they expect then they are just going to get a lot of grief from it when they are wrong.

That's not the only profession I think things like that happen in. Doctors seem to do similar things also. That why I think you hear countless stories of people learning to walk again after doctors telling them they probably won't, or some other aliment they give them little chance of overcoming where they eventually do. They are being conservatively negative for the same reasons.

It rained pretty hard all day here in Baltimore. Pretty good wind gusts, too. Nothing like some of the tropical storm/hurricane weather I experienced while living in the Gulf Coast, though. People were acting pretty ridiculous in the grocery stores, buying batteries and toilet paper like they were anticipating holing up for weeks.

I know about Florida im talking about jersey. They always go overboard with everything. Around here you get little snow, no bigstorms, tornados, ect but they make inch or two of snow seem like weare getting a foot.
