Humans Glow in Visible Light

The human body literally glows, emitting a visible light in extremely small quantities at levels that rise and fall with the day, scientists now reveal.

Past research has shown that the body emits visible light, 1,000 times less intense than the levels to which our naked eyes are sensitive. In fact, virtually all living creatures emit very weak light, which is thought to be a byproduct of biochemical reactions involving free radicals.

isn't that obvious?

the only objects that don't emit light are black holes.

Holy shit! The geek readings are reaching critical levels in this thread!

Visible light is only a portion of all light that is generated. On the other hand it seems reasonable that a lot of things that produce or emit energy generate extremely small amounts of light in forms that are not commonly thought of.

So, hypothetically if you gather 1,000 humans together, the human eye would be able to see the light being emitted.

No, because those 1000 people wouldn't be able to take up any less than 1000 times the area that one person would so the concentration of light wouldn't be any greater.

Now, say we recreated that part of Pink Floyd's The Wall at the end of Another Brick in the Wall part 2. You know, that part. The 1,000 people would then be taking up considerably less space. Would the concentration of light be any greater then? :D

I saw the title from this thread and immediately pictured a human glowing green like radiation!

I see the wierdest scientific suff on here! :1orglaugh

And if you really want the light from 1000 people to be visible they would have to be standing in one exact location so it would build up!
Might not be the only way though :dunno:

Why save the world, when you can rule it?
This could explain why my spunk glows in the dark.
Did you now that black shows up quite bright on night imaging equpiment?

honestly im' confuzzled but hey if you say so :) I don't disagree but obviuosly at the levels you're talking about most if not all have never been able to prove it.

all of this information must now be destroyed. if this leaks to the twilight fanbase we're all fucked harder than edward fucking jacob in his doggy ass
