I don't know if it's ego, having over rehearsed the scenario in their minds, strict procedure or what....

It happened in front of me (for a lesser crime), and all the citizens / pedestrians were shouting and pointing at the guy getting away. The cops just pushed through them with that cocky, determined, "hot-shit," "move along now" attitude. They made it to the original address / location and then were left with dumbass expressions on their faces, heads spinning in a slack jawed "where'd he go" daze.
The people who had tried to help just rolled their eyes and went about their business.

Either fake or something. The getaway car screeched it's brakes and stopped as the police cars were coming up, and the cops wouldn't have seen/heard this??
