wow i thought i was the last person to join...i just finally made one a few weeks ago...still haven't put up pictures or added any info, just talked to people i've fallen outta touch with
i've yet to join facebook as well...i joined myspace about 4 years back and haven't used it for a few years, maybe i'm missing what's fun about such sites
Never got into Facebook. I have a bogus account just to play Farmville, Frontierville, and Resort Party (I think that's the name of the new one I tried). I have looked up pornstars and friended a couple like Kayden Faye and Mz Berlin.

Had Myspace for about 1 week and got spammed up the wazoo from every garage band from here to timbuktu.
I gots to say that in the history of lamest shit ever invented by man...Twitter is at the top of the list now.

I signed up at some point last year after people insisted it would help my career. It's done exactly two things for my carrer: jack and squat. I've gotten to the point where I can't even give enough of a damn to delete the stupid thing, but I'll be getting around to it soon.

It can actually hurt your career due to having any photos on there of you doing things that employers would frown upon. But I have applied to jobs where employers like that you might have a profile because it can serve as cheap (free) advertising for them. The boss would encourage you to become a fan of their business's page and then you invite all your friends to become fans.
i miss that part too...i usually simply use it as a fancy, more convenient email basically to talk to people i know...:dunno:

You're right. But I would never post anything there that would compromise me with an employer. Honestly, I really don't DO anything that would compromise me. Really, I took these people at their word, but after this much time, I just don't see it doing anything at all to or for me. Just a complete waste of time. Hell, at one point I started looking for some people that I haven't seen in years. Didn't find a single one of them. :1orglaugh Facebook is just utterly pointless for my life.

Well, I had one account - under a fake name - to check it out for a bit, but I really found it not for me.
If I were a business person or even in showbiz, I would absolutely get an account and groom it well.
Of course, people shpuld stop putting up pictures of them drinking or doing other stuff, that is always getting in the way of your career
