'Though I may come off as an ill-tempered, sarcastic, loud-mouthed asshole on this Board at times, in real life I'm extremely laid back and soft-spoken. When I flirt with a woman, I do it in stages.
Subtle flirtation, at first: compliments, small talk, I make her the center of attention. I want to know about her, but I'm not so aggressive that I pounce on her and give her reason to doubt my sanity.
Kick it up a bit if she responds back in kind. Get to know her, talk to her, look her in the eye and let her know I'm interested in her and what she has to say. No one - male or female - can deny the fact that it makes you feel good inside when someone notices you and takes you at face value.
Always be real. Don't put on fronts or throw up facades. Sure, everybody has walls around themselves to some degree; that's human nature, but be real and be genuine. Don't be a fake; people will see right through it.
I treat her like a lady; like she's worth a million dollars. I always keep in mind, though, that she's just as independent and as strong as I am. She don't need a keeper or a hand-holder. Give her her space. Pamper her and flirt with her and make her feel like a queen ... but don't hover over her or be too clingy. Women **** clingy men (and vice versa).
God knows I ain't the best lookin' man on this planet (not even close ... hell, I look like Drew Carey) but I can hold my own when I flirt. Women like men who have self-confidence and charisma tempered with charm and manners and respect and honor.

Because my problem is that i don't know what to do! Girls stare at me and i smile at them and they smile me back.. but i don't know what to do? Or how to approach her?

As for me? I let her know I'm interested in many different ways.
Matter of fact, I'm interested in this one young woman I work with (different division). She and I have hit it off and have gone through the early stages of flirting with each other. We went out just the other night (Friday night, actually), went to dinner, and then sat here in my apartment 'til 3:00 in the morning just talking to each other about the small things; getting to know one another and appreciating each other's perspectives.
She called me mid-afternoon yesterday, wanting to know if we could meet up again last night and do the same thing. Said she felt comfortable around me and that I made her feel sexy.
Said yes. She came over; I cooked dinner for her and served her a bottle of chilled red **** by candlelight. We talked to each for hours; flirting, a few small kisses here and there. We sat there laughing and giggling and flirting like teenagers. It was good ... and I really like her. And I told her so. She kissed me and told me that I was the first guy who had ever treated her like a woman and not a plaything.
Today, I sent her a box of Godiva chocolates and a gold rose from FTD ... to be delivered Tuesday (her birthday) at our office. Had a little note in there telling her how much I enjoyed her company and that I really appreciated the fact that she seemed so at ease with me; considering our differences in race, backgrounds, and life experiences (this I did NOT say ... this was merely to fill in information for y'all). I also told her that I looked forward to many more moments like we had shared this weekend and that I would be honored if she would go out with me again.

It's not rocket science, The perfect 1. It's just taking friendship to a different level, for all practical purposes. You gotta be sure she's interested, though. A few failures and rejections WILL happen, trust me ... that's a part of life. But ... as I said, you WILL know when the time is right for you to ask her.

Basically, my advice is to really take to heart what Ax3c said. Be yourself is the most important. Don't use cheesy pick up lines. Be gentle, and right from the beginning, also be truthful. Complement the girl. After you engage her in conversation, find a common interest, be it something about school, work, the weather. You really don't have to know alot about a girl to recognize some of her interests. Personally, I am just a wacky, funny type of guy. I always knew I had a girl once I got a genuine laugh from her. As time goes on, you'll develop your techniques and it gets easier. We all were nervous in the beginning. But you just have to overcome it. I'm sure you can.
