how do i get green av off my computer?

i've tried everything to get it off. its a anti-virus program.

if it won't uninstall then it's not an anti-virus program, it's a virus.

Here's a variety of sources that can help you remove it. I prefer Malwarebytes for this sort of thing (download it free at Premium Link Upgrade ) but there are number of different ways to rid yourself of this pest and other troublesome scamware just like it.

By the way, I found out the hard way that these rogue programs get you suckered in by automatically installing themselves on your hard-drive if you click on anything in the pop-up window. The only way to prevent this is to manually and immediately shut down your computer....at least that's the only thing that has worked for me. Maybe someone here knows another method. If so, I'd like to hear what it is.

I second what Jagger said: Premium Link Upgrade is impressively good at detection/removal. Out of interest OP: what is your current anti-virus program??

I third what Jagger said. Malwarebytes is King. Once the malware is gone, then Download Premium Link Upgrade to clean out the Viruses. Third, download Premium Link Upgrade to get anything remaining and to correct all the Windows errors left behind. And lastly, use Premium Link Upgrade to correct any registry entries, defrag your hard drive, and clean out useless junk.

These programs are all free.
