How bad is it to get a post deleted?

Ok, today for the first time( I think) a mod (or whoever) deleted one of my post. I'm not complaining or anything; I was just wondering if a lot of people here have had post deleted.

The post that got deleted was a bit of a zinger but I really thought it was pretty mild. I'm sincerely sorry if I offended anybody.

don't worry about it. i had my first one deleted the other day. if the mods feel like you could offend someone, or if you are flaming, then they just take the post down. maybe be a bit more careful with what you say, but i think if it's serious they will either PM you or go ahead and ban you.

I'm not sure how many I've had deleted. Probably only in the single digits, tho.

As for how serious it is.. well, the mods here actually exercise their power regularly. It isnt like other boards where one little edit, deletion or topic lockdown is taken as some rare occurance treated like a big deal and a bag of chips.

I've had a few that probably should be deleted and I'll be surprised if I check and they're not. But I'm not really worried about it. I think people understand that a lot of what is said is joking around

Jay1980, I hear ya! Moderator John Brown always hated me. For what? I don't know. Every time that I make a post, he deletes it before it can grow. He deletes it before it grows!

Now I agree that should have been deleted.

Was it just your post or from that whole thread that was just deleted? I just tried to post to a thread that "poof" disappeared. If so it surely wasn't just you.

Depends on the post, the mod deleting it, the thread and others. But, no matter how bad your post was, remember, there's probably stupid and/or worse posts that have been left alone.

The mods don't delete a post for the fun it there is a reason for it.


You can always make it up with another post.
