How are teen topanga, etc. legal?

I understand they are legal age, but how is it still legal on some levels? Isn't there some law against that type of stuff (looking that young)? Or some states ban that?

I'm all for free speech and whatnot, just curious if there is anything that is against it in certain states or something?

As long as a girl is 18 (21 in some places) years of age at the time of depiction it's considered legal, even if she looks 12. I don't completely agree with this, but that's the way it is.

I know at one point it was illegal, but they reversed that law in 2002 I believe.

I'm not against it, I think the gov't needs to get more out of people's lives than making more laws.

However, aren't there local laws in some states against this stuff?

I certainly hope that no place in the US at least has bureaucrats deciding what looks legal enough for porn.

Meh, I'm not against it but the genre with the legal but very young looking girls is a strange one.

rules and laws gotta be clear and gotta have legible criterions. the only objective criteria is age. all the rest is about impressions, emotions and psychologic stuff.

laws gotta be universal, unambiguous, and can't take into account such characteristics like "she does look like she is not legal". cuz for two different people there might be two different opinions upon the way "she looks".

so it is impossible

pretty sure 18 is considered a legal adult in every state in the nation.

She's eighteen. That's all you need to know.

Me too.

Why would there be anything against it, if she is eighteen? :dunno:

I don't think he's talking about her legal age, I think he's referring to the fact that she's trying to create the fantasy that she's underage.

That's what porn is a fantasy. Do you think most guys could get a good looking girl? Most are too shallow for starters.

It's just a fantasy. As long as she's legal. ;)

Actually, there was once a law that banned this stuff made in 1996, and wasn't reversed until either 2002, forget the dates.

Also, I have read that in place of that ban, it has been a state thing. AKA, if the community finds the stuff "offensive" or something, you can possibly get charge with something. Forgot what its called. Anyone know the exacts on that?

Yes, porn sales can be banned in states, I know some states do. You can still watch it, but can't buy it locally. So its not so cut and dry as many would like to make it be.

Wouldn't you know it, As*croft would be involved?

Him or Ken Starr.

I don't get it none of them truly have a faith. So, what's the big deal? :dunno:

Wait...don't forget these are the same people who approve torture.

It's better to have a definite date to base things on than to have people arbitrarily deciding on what looks too young based on nothing more than their opinion.

Well if you already knew the answer why did you ask? Just to tell us we're wrong?
