Kaos Studios implemented squad play in Frontlines: Fuel of War long before MAG was a blip on the radar. You had 32 to 50 players online all in squads of 4 (communicating with each other) working to capture the objective points and pushing the frontline towards the enemy base.Just to get back to actually talking about Homefront.They actually tried to make this game a bit like MAG with the squad based objectives,but I just don't think it works very well,plus the graphics are distractingly bad.
