High-flying Honkers Have Superhuman Power

Native to South and Central Asia, bar-headed geese, named for the dark stripes on the backs of their heads, are often bred in captivity as domestic garden birds. In the wild, they migrate annually between India and the Tibetan plateau in China, flying over the world’s highest mountains on their way.

A bird with "Superhuman Powers"? Good one sciencedaily! :rolleyes:

Well, I guess that can technically be correct if their powers are above those of humans.

High-flying honkers...:rofl::rofl::rofl:

What I found of interest is the fact they fly at almost 30,000 feet.

Migrations of birds are just astounding to me, whether it is a whooping crane, arctic tern or to a lesser extent, Canada geese or the simple robin. Add 30,000 ft. elevation and it adds another seemingly impossible factor to these migrations. How do they all know where to go? Nature is fascinating.:)
