Help me save a life for my birthday

Some people have asked me about my birthday on Tuesday, and if I want anything. Yes, i'm still quite poor, and a gift card for Amazon would help me, but I think I've found a pretty good cause.

Liberty in North Korea is an organization that helps rescue North Koreans, bring them to freedom, and get them to be functioning members of society. It only costs $2,500 to rescue a North Korean - that's it.

Anyone who's watched any documentary about the North knows that these people live in absolutely hell-like circumstances. If you'd like more information, I recommend a book called "Escape From Camp 14", as well as a recent piece done by Channel 4 in the UK on North Korea.

So, please. Join me and help rescue someone. 100% of all donations go DIRECTLY to rescuing people.

You see, you guys fall for this shit. Gotta cut out the middle man. I don't trust these organizations. I have it on good authority that KJU will send them across the border for 1000 each but you have to order in quantities of 100,000 at a time.

That's what they do with Russia, anyway. They're used as cheap labour.

But really, Assari, are you that clueless?

I think that this North Koreans are hungry-harping is Western propaganda.

If most of the population starving then the country is out of oder.

It is best to allow them to manage their own affairs because those individulals whose relative defected to the west can become a persecuted.

I wish I could be anything other than cynical but the reality of the situation is you are asking for $2,500 to save one person?

How is that person chosen? What about the people that person leaves behind? How is that money used? What if that person squanders the new life he's "bought"? How many people can this charity really expect to help?

You are talking about an expensive drop in the ocean when it comes to the abused and suppressed people of North Korea. I respect any charities work, but what you have there sounds....futile.

With all due respect, you are asking a lot from people who don't seem that interested in pay for your cam shows, let alone asking them to raise £2,500 for a charity I don't have any faith in.

What in the world?
Are you serious with this horseshit?

People are rolling up quarters to put gas in their cars and you want us to come across with 2,500 for some Korean fella?

I support enough by frequenting my local Korean BBQ joint....

You get the Maleonetwo memorial

Escape From Camp 14 is an outstanding missive. I highly recommend it for anyone interested in liberating others from tyranny.

Come on you cheap bastards, this is the holiday season. Think about the smile on a loved one's face when they find their very own North Korean under the tree.
