Help me pick my next hair color!

I can't afford a color and style right now, but i'm saving for it - and I'm not entirely sure what to do when I finally do have the money. I don't like my natural color. i think it's way too dark. You can see it coming in a some of my new pictures.

That's what it looked like the last time I let me natural color come in. I just hate it.

Here are some of the other colors it's been:

Part of me wants to do the blonde thing again, but part of me wants to do something completely unnatural, like a dark purple, or even a light purple. I'm open to any suggestion, so, tell me what you all think.

Red! Try like a really bright red, like so red that it's crayon red. Not like the purplish kind of red, or auburn red, but really red. You can easily do that at home, but for your case in particular since you can't really see what you're doing, if you have a friend who could help, it's definitely a lot cheaper than going to a salon. I've been dying my own hair since I was 12. I've done blonde, black, auburn, dark brown, bits of blue, purple and pink, different shades of red. Once when I wanted to do my hair a pretty golden brown, this was about a year ago, my hair was currently black, and I tried bleaching it but nothing changed except my roots. I had to leave for NY the next morning and there was no way I could go to NY with bright blonde roots and the rest black, so I said fuck it and went to a salon, asked them to do a light brown, and guess what they did? Turned it blonde and charged me nearly $200. Fuck that. Never going to a salon again to get my hair done. So I went to Wal-Mart, got some brown hair dye, and did it myself after work that night.

So if you have a friend who could help you, it would save you $100. Get some bleach, or if your hair is currently dyed, get a hair color removal kit (sold at most drug stores and of course places like Wal-Mart and Target). Do that first, wash it out. And get some blonde hair dye, because you'll need your hair to be as light as it can possibly get. You Might want to get two boxes of blonde incase it doesn't go that blonde the first try. And get some red hair dye- Try this brand calle Splat. It's the absolute best. I've tried all sorts of brands for reds and other colors like purple and whatnot, and this is the absolute best. That can be found at Wal-Mart.

I think your hair looks great as it is naturally, so I don't have any real suggestions as to what color you should choose instead. I'll be interested to see what you pick though.

Just don't forget to make sure that the carpet matches the drapes.

Just like dying your own eyebrows, that is very dangerous.

red is boring. everyone is doing red as a trend right now. i see it daily. used to be an alt thing, now its a mexican thing. quite odd.

I think you'd look great with light brown fading into a purple/red like this but with light brown instead of blonde:
