HELP!!! Computer Question

OK all you computer guru's, I'm confused. My computer doesn't show the places I've been. I'll explain. Like when you're here on Freeones & you click on a link & it 'grays' out so you know you've been there, well I haven't made any changes to my machine, but it just quit doing that! One day it worked, the next it didn't! :wtf:

Any ideas? :hairpull:

Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Never know, there might even be a "Rep" in it for ya!! LOL

Are you using the same browser as before?

And check the settings for how often your browser clears the cache and what the criteria are for clearing the cache.

Thats what I'd start with at least.

Yup, I guess Anders is correct. It has to do with your cookies and your cache. You probably erased them automatically, that's why it doesn't show anymore, I think.

If not, just say, and we'll look further for other options.

If you are using Firefox you can set it so it deletes your history as you
are surfing the net.

It comes in handy if your girlfriend uses the same computer ;)

Thanks for all your input people!!

I'll clarify a few things:

Running Windows 7 - Using IE - as far as the cache, they should show until it's cleared, but they don't show up at all.

Hope this helps, thanks again!

Old habits die hard! I'm sure there are several better options! I've heard pros & cons for Chrome, Firefox & a few others, so I figured what the hell, why change! Just be swapping one problem for another!

What do you use Pirate?

Firefox, because it sounds cool and works well enough. Mainly because it sounds cool though.

Gee, it never occured to me to use software cause the name sounded good, think I'll have to give it a shot, can't be worse than what I'm doing, right! ha ha ha

One thing I'm a little concerned about, I have a Windows phone, which requires Zune software to sync. Will that workif I get away from Microsoft? Or cal I have 2 browsers loaded & use whichever one I want at the time. I know you shouldn't have 2 OS loaded together.

Oh & Squallums, it's a wireless infrared mouse, not much for moving parts.

That generally solves most problems . . . except my financial ones . . . usually makes them worse!! LOL

Mostly pros with chrome. Just download it and give yourself a week with it and you will not be able to go back to IE.

you will want to reconfigure your computer

at the start menu, type "cmd" to open a command prompt

at the command line, type "C: format"

your computer will fix itself
