One of the few former adult film survivors, Ms. Heidi Nelson-Grossman, aka Heidi Cat, announced a multi-count, multi-million dollar lawsuit (Heidi Nelson-Gorssman vs. Excalibur Entertainment, Inc., et al.)filed May 12,2004, in Van Nuys, CA the porn capitol of the world, against Excalibur Entertainment Inc., the worlds largest distributor of XXX movies. Heidi quit the industry prior to the birth of the Internet and has since reformed her life. Excalibur has marketed and sold products using Heidis real name, image and likeness to present date. Excalibur Films fraudulently credits Heidi with over 150 adult films. She never appears in many of the films being sold on an unauthorized Web page made by Excalibur. Further, Excalibur has marketed and sold Compilation Films, DVDs, CD-ROMs, Movie Trailer, VHS, and a Slide Show, none of which she agreed to, new about, or was paid. It is estimated that Excalibur Films, its subsidiaries, affiliates and/or agents, have profited millions of dollars from the unauthorized use of Heidis name, image, and likeness whether or not she actually appeared in the products being sold.
Heidi entered the dark world of porn at the age of nineteen carrying the baggage of childhood sexual abuse as with most porn stars. The industry accommodated coerced, and fed her drug and alcohol addiction and often used chemical and physical intimidation to further her continued participation.
Currently, Heidi suffers fallout from the unregulated porn industry by continued exposure of fraudulent and false portrayals stating that Heidi has been in the porn industry for the last 13 years, when in reality she has not. Heidi, now the mother of two daughters, finds herself as well as her children ostracized in their community and church as a result. Her eldest daughter was teased in the first grade, and Heidis employment has suffered from the exposure. Adding to this drama is the recent HIV scare in the porn industry (for which Heidi tests clean for any and all STDs). Heidi is a third year English major and is in pursuit of a Law Degree. Heidis passion for justice, for herself and others, has brought her to the point of exposing the illegal practices of many adult filmmakers and distributors. Despite demands to stop using her name, image and likeness and payment for past use, Excalibur Films has decided to ignore Heidis requests leading to the legal action. Cyrus John Nownejad, Esq. of The Law Offices of Cyrus & Cyrus, a Professional Law Corporation that is located in Beverly Hills, CA. 90210 (phone: 310-623-1676) is representing Heidi.
Heidi has authored a book entitled Porn Star Prodigy, Living to Tell and penned a screenplay Judged by Her Cover, both of which will be released after the conclusion of the upcoming legal battle. Heidi uncovers the inner workings of the porn industry and exposes the abuses suffered as another teenager who entered the adult entertainment world to her peril. Heidis hope is to lead the fight for regulation in an industry in which one only has to be 18 to be a performer, yet 21 to purchase or rent the XXX rated material.
