Happened 40-years ago: gas lines

In 1979, a new oil crisis struck western countries and motorists had to sit for hours in their cars if they wanted to buy gas.

If somebody thought it was more sensible to order a taxi and use it to travel to work it may not have been a good idea because most taxis couldn't get started because of a gas shortage.

People were v-e-r-y annoyed.

I was there for that. Odd and even licence plate numbers on odd and even days. Prices shot from 30 cents per gallon to 75 cents.

You don't have cars or lawns in Finland.
