Back then it was much more potent and maybe it was his first time :dunno:

I'd say either a mix of the two I mentioned or just LSD. This video is looking to be 1970s. Was Ecstasy around in the 70s-80s?

Beyond that, I say LSD, weed, and/or acid.

Beyond that, this video is probably the only footage they have of him now...

My friend, I wanna share some relatively useless old timey knowledge with you.
Weed was not more potent back then, merely easier to get potent stash with no name for $8-$10 an ounce. There was actually Mescaline around, synthetic and natural, psilocybin both synthetic and natural (boy, do I have stories...maybe another time!), and much different than now very potent lysergic acid diethylamide-25. These were the final days of actual stock still around of Owsley acid, like Paisley, Purple Haze, Clear Light, etc...not like the cruder versions of the mid 70s to now.
That guy is absolutely tripping on acid...whether he smoked weed or not, is not relevant to his story.
PCP wasn't really out there yet, it was called Angel Dust or in it's slightly altered state synthetic T and wasn't too popular considering the cheap thrills out there at the time.
That was the concert where the Summer of Love definitely came to a bloody end...I had just left the country and missed the whole downer experience.
Before that , it was such a coast to coast party...you whippersnappers have no idea!

Fer instance, the Vortex Rock Festival...I was there for only a week...:D

LSD, I mean it was the 70's and he is a Hell's Angel. Hey this is Monterry right? Did the Angels not stab/kill someone at this concert?

Altamont Speedway, Stones Concert...
I am pretty sure the guy is an Angels' prospect, from his appearance. And that was the worst mistake the Stones ever made in their long career, bar none...like having the Mafia do valet parking at your wedding.:nono:

There was a movie about the concert and the debacle it was I saw like 30 years ago or more.As I remember it it was a free concert, they were trying to make it like a woodstock(where 500,000 kids showed up for a concert and it all went really well with a lot of brotherhood and no violence shown) but it turned out to be the exact opposite and was said to represent how much the counter culture had lost it's brotherhood and good feeling by the time of altamont.

The deal with the Hells Angels was I beleive they would act as security for the concert and in payment would receive all the beer they could drink.:beer:Who could have forseen trouble ???:1orglaugh

I dont think the guy was an Angel, just someone that wound up on stage 2 inches from jagger, but maybe a prospect.
it wasnt my intentions to post about the killing that occured about 2 minutes after this vid but here it is. about 3:30 in:

Old meesterP felt bad for the guy, today i think different.
there was testimony that the guy with the gun was heard saying that he was gonna shoot jagger on stage.
plus who brings and whips out a gun at a concert?
Ive watched this movie (gimme shelter) many times and i think its interesting because it really captured the mood, lifestyle at that place and time.
I enjoy watching this clip, 400,000 to 500,000 people in one place, dec 1969, more than Woodstock
in this clip theres so much weird stuff, so many characters, its nuts.
I always wondered what the Angel said in jaggers ear or what guy in the green beret was yelling to jagger around 7:20 in "its no good man"?

The drugs he's on, looks like LSD and he's probably peaking at that moment.

"Am I a valet for you? Do you think I'm a valet for your car; Italian cars aren't good enough?
No, no, I'm just asking...am I a valet for you? Did I valet fast enough, did I bring your car like a valet is 'posed ta? No, No, I'm just askin'..."

That's from the RS rockumentary Gimme Shelter. The Stones hired the Hell's Angels as security guards for the show, paying them in something like 100 cases of beer. The whole idea was a stupid ploy, and the result was damn near catastrophic. Jefferson Airplane opened for the band, and the shit started when Marty Ballard got into an argument with one of the cycle gang members. Grace Slick was trying to calm things down, and Mick and everyone else was too stoned to know what the hell was happening. Anyway, my guess is the dude is tripping on whatever-the-hell. Funny how long it took one of the Hell's Angels to finally yank his ass away from Jagger.
