gotta go with a mastiff, they were bred for war (among other things), and they're fucking huge so the sight of one alone will put most off also they're big ol cuties

Japanese Akita :thumbsup:

I had 2 and loved them. They were of the American variety so they were bigger. The female Akita is 105 lbs and still lives with my ex-GF who I bought the dog for. My male lived to be 13 and topped out at 125 lbs.

Not only are Akitas territorial as Hell but they're also clever and sneaky. My two hardly ever barked but gave this intimidating blank stare to strangers. It was pretty bad ass.

The ideal situation is to have a male and female together. They work well in pairs. Never have 2 males or 2 females together as the breed is highly dog aggressive.

This is somewhat true they are't very dog friendly but they do make a hell of a lot of noise when a stranger comes around. They do make friends with people a little to easily.
