, has really got me thinking about my life and money for some reason. I think it's because people are ****** about not getting paid enough money, even when they make plenty of it.
I am 26 years old and I feel like I'm at "that point" in my life where things are supposed to be going my way, but it seems that the opposite is true. When I was 18, I started working in sales. I worked in sales for 6 years. Yes, for being 18 years old, I made pretty decent money. I would bring home $500-600/week on the average. I lived at home at the time so I didn't have to worry about paying rent, utilities or the food bill. I was happy with the money I was making during that time, but I was very unhappy about what I was doing with my career. I hated working in sales, so I quit.
When I was 24, I entered into culinary school. I am now a chef and absolutely love what I do for a living, no matter how hard it is. The only thing that bothers me is...I'm not making ANY money. Money is not important to me in the sense of having fancy clothes or really nice furniture, but it is important to me in sense of being able to pay my bills and being able to support a ******. I just feel like it's never going to get better, although I know that it will...hopefully. :dunno:
I just feel like someone who is my age should have a better life. I feel like I'm "behind", so my question to you is this...
How old were you when you finally "got your life together" and started making steady money at your career? Am I behind, or am I just stressed?
Any advice, thoughts, etc., would be helpful...even if they're comical.
