Over Christmas with all the rubbish on TV - I bumped into a documentry by Michael Palin on Andrew Wyeth it gave a lovely view on the Artist and on a part of America thats rarely seen over here.

Very insightful artist, he had a good grasp of erotic subjects and positions.

I like how the gallery ended with Mark Twain :yinyang:

I remember reading something about the nude woman in his paintings. She was his girlfriend, or he had an affair with her. I don't recall.

This art looks a bit voyeuristic, like the subjects aren't aware they are being observed...feels like I'm spying on them and I shouldn't be watching them...but I can't stop watching.
Maybe it's from the POV of a neglected child whose parents ignore his/her presence.
Maybe I'm over thinking it.

I like Frank Stella.
Adolf Ulrik Wertmüller was a nice portrait painter who was born and raised in Sweden and lived his last years in the US.

Four months and nobody has mentioned Edward Hopper?

Nobody captured emotional solitude and estrangement better than him.
