Graphics Card

I have a Dell Inspiron 1501 that runs an ATI Radeon Xpress 1150 128MB Graphics Card, a 1.8 GHz Processor and 2 Gigs of Ram.

I am thinking about upgrading my laptop so that it can play some newer games. I would like to upgrade to a 512 Mb graphics card and maybe...maybe more ram.

My questions are is it possible for me to upgrade the video card? Is it something I can do myself? and which graphics card should I get...I don't need the best top of the line model, just something a little better.

Thnx :crash::crash::crash:

You can get more ram if you want though (: And build your own pc i you wanna game, its actually not that expensive if you build your own, I spent $500 to buid my computer, and it can play Crysis on High at 1920x1080. As long as you go with the right parts, they're crazy cheap, especially on Newegg.

I second Newegg, excellent purchasing site :thumbsup:

I recently bought a brand spanking new PC with 4 GB Ram and a 1 GB NVidia Graphic card.

Playing Need for Speed Shift, Command & Conquer : Red Alert 3 and other games, all supersmooth performance.

Don't go for less, if you want to be ready for good performance

^Wanting to purchase a new laptop here - mind you, been wanting to for four years :1orglaugh :o

...and waiting for Windows 7...so I'll wait :cool:

That's understood! Vista is a lot like that Millenium Edition Microsoft threw on the market because they felt they had to put out SOMETHING. Half-baked.

Windows 7 really sounds like a great system, but I will stick to XP until they work out the little bugs it will come along with, I fear, at first.

^^Absolutely:thumbsup: From what I've heard, Windows 7 positively flies on netbooks too.
I'll wait. Yep, my current laptop (Fujitsu Siemens ) has XP Pro also. :)
