GOP Staffer Calls Obama ********* 'Classless'

People don't give enough credit to Carter for his accomplishments prior to his presidency. But he is better as an EX-president.

You misquote him in this regard (not surprising). He said he was ineffective, not a "douchebag". In reality, Jimmy Carter is one of the most decent and honorable human beings that have ever served our country. I would ask you how he qualifies as a douchebag but I'm sure you would simply counter with your usual mindless drivel so I won't bother.

Jimmy Carter is a really good man as opposed to politicians who befriend the public for their own needs. I'm from the right side of the political fence but it makes me feel good to see Carter out with hammer and nails still helping people. I agree he was ineffective as President. President was probably just a bad job fit. He mighta been a good Pope(if they allowed a Baptist).

Just leave the **** out of it. It is tough to parent. It is tough to grow up under a microscope. Just leave the **** completely out of it. Unless they are over 21 and asking to be in the spotlight, leave them out of it.

Lauten's post was low-class. So was yours Rey.

No argument from me on that. But I have a quota to meet and a reputation to uphold. I have to make sure that at least 51% of my posts are low-class.... and I'd say the other 49% are nothing to be proud of either.

But here's the difference: if Elizabeth Lauten had made these posts as "Big Liz" (or whatever) on Tweeetter or MyFace or SpaceBook, she'd have been good to go. The interwebs is full of objectionable posts. But making such a post using your real name, and having it reflect on your real life job (and boss), is three shades of stupid. I think the best take-away from this episode (and other recent ones too) is that if you want to share your inner-most thoughts with the whole wide world on social networks, you better make damn sure that your inner-most thoughts won't come back and bite you on the ass - especially if your ass is a great, big, wide target (scoring low-class points in spades tonight, ain't I?!). On the one or two racing and car boards where I'm still somewhat active, and people actually know me in real life, I'm a MUCH different, much more private person. I've been asked many times over the years to do opinion pieces and even a "guest column" for my local newspaper. I won't do it. Why? Because if you give me a topic that I feel passionately enough about, I will offend at least half of the people reading it to the point that they would probably try to cause issues for me where I work. But now, once I retire... ohhh baby, I'm going to let it all hang out!!! :nanner:

Now Liz is going to be OK, folks. Trust me. Just as I had a feeling that the axe was going to fall on her chubby neck, I also have a feeling that she'll be quietly picked up by some conservative think tank or neocon religious organization. She's (obviously) never missed a meal and I have no worries that she's going to starve over Christmas. But she won't be yapping on Twitter anymore. I'm very certain that her new employer will have that clause in her contract. ;)

There are good and bad people in the corporate world, Steve Jobs, Bill Gates, Harley Earl one of the GM's presidents which was very successful from the mid 50's till the mid 70's ,Bill Durant (founder of GM), Lee Iacoca were often quoted as good ones. Of course those who only look on profit and the lowest wage possible are not good people but as you know in a world of globalization as stupid as it maybe, managers look for labor cost not necessarily for quality.Carter was indeed one of the biggest douchebag presidents ever, on that I agree with you.

Yes, there are good and bad people in the corporate world, politics, education and every other walk of life. But for whatever reason, you've included in your list of good guys a man who conspired with another executive to cheat a man who was fighting for his life, in a battle against cancer, out of his share of the company's stock (Bill Gates & Steve Ballmer vs. Paul Allen). Gates also ruthlessly connived his way into a monopolistic position by crushing his smaller competitors... illegally. And while I have the greatest admiration for what Steve Jobs accomplished, he also was FAR from a good/nice person. He denied his ******** a ****** until she was later in life and he would have nothing to do with his own ****** right up until the day he died. He belittled people and pressured them to the point that some were on the verge of a nervous breakdown by the time they quit or got fired from Apple. I don't have enough knowledge of the others to say anything one way or the other. But few people are all good or all bad. Though you obviously dislike Obama (much of it seemingly based on his race), no rational person would think that he is all bad. I don't care for George W. Bush (I feel betrayed since I voted for him for his first term), but I don't think he's necessarily a bad guy - not overly sharp and easily manipulated, but not all bad, IMO.

And no I most certainly did NOT say that Jimmy Carter was a douchebag. Quite the contrary. As Jagger pointed out to you, what I said was that he was ineffective. But before he was elected President, during his term and to this day, I would hold him up as an example of what a man should be in life... in humanistic terms. What I was attempting to point out to you (unsuccessfully, apparently) was that success and being a good person are not linked one way or the other.

If you've got the opportunity to write then by all means do so. As long as you are honest and willing to defend your views, it doesn't matter. When I write about controversial subjects and get feedback, any kind of feedback, it makes my work pertinent. If they are willing to discuss it with me then they are discussing it amongst others. The only way it would bite you in the ass at work is if you are writing about your workplace or clients or the kind of activity that goes on there. If the subject has nothing to do with either and they don't share your opinion then fuck'em. You collected a check for that piece.

By that same token, I'll never understand this social media thing. I do some to promote my work but I leave it at that. I do it to make money. Posting when I took my last **** doesn't do that. You want to see me holding up a **** at a party? Get invited to the party.

I'd never play golf with Bob because I'm pretty sure he'd **** in a bunker like a cat and not admit it.

No argument...words, words, words...

You had me at "No argument"...the rest sounded to me like "You're right, I agree" :)

Good point. Big Liz wins no "common sense" awards.

Oh, we're not supposed to use our real names here? I thought we did and thought xfire's *** was just pissed off about something, and Ace Boobtoucher came from the long line of Boobtouchers. Nordic origins, I think.

Remember that song from the 80's, The Politics of Dancing? It's kinda like that. As much as I'd love to drop some opinion pieces into the local rag, I can't make waves just now. I'm two years into a three year deal and we'll be renegotiating my contract next year. I just want two more years, as an extension, under the same terms and conditions I have now. Some people have already had a "hey, wait a minute!" moment while reviewing how I crafted my bonus structure (one of my better "heads I win, tails you lose" ploys, if I do say so myself)... so I can't afford to do anything that puts me high on the radar for awhile.

I hope I can soon though. And a run for a Board of Supervisors seat might be in the cards too. I know that I'm no more (or less) fucked in the head than the goofs they have in there now. Comparatively speaking, I think I'd be a pretty good dictator... I mean, supervisor!
