I'm pretty sure I missed something here. I feel like the person who came into the room halfway through a conversation, but I am just curious as to why one would have a legit reason to announce that they are leaving a forum. Closure perhaps? I get leaving after a flame war pisses you off, but I am honestly curious about the motives of making a big deal about leaving. I'm not sold that it is 100% about attention (though I am frequently wrong about this type of thing).

If it were a long time member who was constantly active saying goodbye I would understand. But I mean I still consider myself a n00b on these boards and I have more posts than this guy.
