Ah yes.. I remember long before the internet came along, the only place to get your information was from teletext.
There was nothing quite like waiting ages for page 23/30 when you had the misfortune to be on 1/30.
The blocky graphics, the awful attempts at animation.. FABULOUS.
I can remember sitting there, listening to the football on the radio and looking for the other match results on teletext at the same time.
I used to know some page numbers off by heart. I knew exactly which page to find what I was looking for.
Let's face it.. it was so slow, you had to try and speed it up somehow.
Anyone remember 'Bamboozle' (hosted by 'Bamber Boozle') on the Channel 4 teletext?
You would answer various general knowledge questions (usually 20).. of course you would get a question wrong and then have to go back to the start again!
Not forgeting the crappy TV guide, Film reviews and things like theatre reviews (which you really had no interest in, but hey, it was something to read)
No doubt, in years to come, the internet might find itself dumped to one side and we'll all start reminiscing about 'the good old days, when we used to log on to Freeones

Never heard of it. The only predecessor to the internet that I remember was Prodigy.
