Gold plated Luger

Another highlight from the auction is an exceptionally rare gold plated, factory engraved Luger ****** made by Krieghoff Heinrich *** Co. This exact Luger is photographed on pages 208, 209 and 211 of the “Krieghoff Parabellum” by Randall Gibson. The rare ****** still has more than 90 percent of the original gold-plated finish. It carries a presale estimate of between $50,000 and $100,000.

Actually, there were only 2 Luger's made in .45ACP, that were to be submitted for the U.S. Army's trails for a new side arm, when they adapted the cartridge, and eventually the Colt 1911, and they sold for more then this ***. Which is surprising to me, considering it's gold plated. At least it's not as fugly as the gold tiger stripped Desert Eagle.

The funny is that a weapon that is decorative, rather than strictly functional, should exist.
