I've seen a lot of those in the rainforest around home. Cairns is in the very North of the East coast of Australia. Around there, those are not the big spiders you have to worry about.

Mr Shakepeare said he had seen golden orb weaver spiders as big as a human hand but the northern species in tropical areas were known to grow larger.
