If anything, check out Americana in Ohio. That place really had nature take back what it owns in a sense!
 
Looking at those pictures of the surrounding areas of Chernobyl bring a whole new dimension to S.T.A.L.K.E.R.
 
Great post Paulinator, love this sort of thing.....very spooky indeed some of those places. Will give you some rep for this as soon as I can!

A total of 8,000 mummies are housed in niches along the walls of the Capuchin Catacombs. Dating back to the 16th Century, the catacombs were dug under the Capuchin Monastery in Palermo, Sicily, when it's original cemetary had been filled
