Recently I had watched some interviews with him. The thing that stuck out was that it didn't matter whether he won or lost a match. Putting on the show was primary. God rest his soul.

RIP George "The ******" Steele. Started watching him during the Rock 'n Wrestling era many times on Saturday Night's Main Event. He also put on a good performance in Ed Wood. Now him and Nicole Bass can make beautiful babies together in Heaven.

A wrestler who went from a scary heel character in the 70's to a loveable comedy wrestler in the 80's.He was also terrific in the movie "Ed Wood".
I believe he was also a high school teacher in Detroit while he was wrestling for a good chunk of his career.
