Pretty much all of them for me. Im an all rounder, never sticking to one genre. My games rack is full of a range of games such as Little Big Planet to Resident Evil 5.

shooters and racing seem to be staples for me when it comes to video games. I also like the rhythm games. Rockband in particular. The only game I've ever played for more than a year.

Sports seems to be at the top of my list, followed by simulators (such as SimCity 4), followed by first person shooters with a plot.
If "first person sneaker" (see: the Thief series), then I would add that one, as well.

Mostly 2d fighters. Some 3d fighters, like Soul Calibur are pretty great, too. The Resident Evil games are great. City of Heroes is also a really fun game.

Always go for the Racing genre first... I still think Colin McRae '05 is the most intense game ever made. NO CONTEST.
