gas prices

sorry to beat a dead ***** in the head, but i just heard a commercial i think it was from dodge with a guarantee that if you bought a new car that you will get gas for $3 for the next three years or something up to 12,000 miles......this just tells me that big money can buy it at $3 a gallon if you buy enough quantity......sound logical???? juts makes me feel even more that were getting ripped off and our shitty government lets it happen.....maybe howard stern will run for president!!!!

Go ahead and buy a new dodge I guarentee that extra dollar or 2 they are losing on that "offer" they make up for with the selling price of their vehicles!

They are despearate to sell cars. That guarantee might have some fine print in it as well. But if not they could lose a lot with it.

yeah, kinda makes you wonder how they are going to implement it.

are you going to have to drive back to the dealership and show them your receipt every time you fill up?

you're on the case Guard! go to Dodge and tell them you want to buy a car, and get all the info and then come back here and let us know.

Legzman,

You are correct that the price of gasoline they offer in the purchase of the vehicle is actually rounded out to the markup purchase price. No such thing as free gasoline or lower price guarantee.....it's all fixed.

People have to be pretty stupid to fall for this scam. I mean seriously. But I'm sure they've sold quite a few vehicles with this as their main selling point! I once wanted a new dodge ram but now I'm more like "fuck that" your not gonna get me with that scam!

Down to $4.29 !! from $4.60 something

Almost a call for celebration !

Considering that most of us forgot that the same gallon of fuel was about $1.99 two years ago . . . dammit !

As with all things like this it would be better if they just made the vehicle cheaper in the first place instead of using roundabout incentives with a lot of fine print.

Do they know somthin we dont? Once gas prices go down(ya right but hope and pray) everyone who is locked into this $3.00 a gallon is screwed because they would be paying more even if gas went down to $.01 a gallon. (that would be great!:nanner:) A local Kia dealership is doing the same thing but for $.80 a gallon:eek: Still wont drive a kia.

Not quite sure how it works but maybe someone can explain:

Oil prices have dropped over $20.per barrel within the past 2 weeks yet the gas prices remain the same (or dropped very little)

When the price per barrel was escalating daily, all the %@#$ gas stations were raising prices daily too!

What is the reason for the delay in cost reduction?, I mean besides the obvious pure greed.

I drive a 4-banger. About a year and half ago $20 got me a full tank. Now it cost me $50 for a full tank. I'm not really complaining but just implying.

Haha last time i filled up my Jeep with 91 octane it cost me over $100 dollars, good thing its not my daily driver and it's mostly used for wheeling

You're right on the money there (no pun intended). It's rediculous how they try to fool you into this damn "deal", as they play it off like you save so much money. $3 per gallon for gas for three years, assuming 20 gallons for a full tank and 20 mpg (which may be generous), 20 miles in a day driving freeway (again may differ from place to place, but not uncommon here in California), and 52 weeks in a year. That comes out to 400 miles per tank, and 140 miles driven per week.

That puts you needing gas about every 3 weeks or about 17 times per year. So taking that into account you have $3 x 20 gallons x 17 trips = $1020 per year or $3060 overall. They have been offering that up front for years.

Taxes would be my best guess. It varies state to state, but in California we tax the hell out of gas, which makes the price go up quickly and drop slowly.
