FreeOnes isn't doing that bad if you count number of members it has. Plus an even bigger concern is that not all boards are run the same way. Because of subject manner, oversight, structure of the board, and a very wide variety of factors some messageboards lend themselves to having a lot more post, sometimes even by things that almost artificially boost their numbers. Then there are the boards out there that end up essentially being a chat room or multiple chat rooms in disguise rather than being more like an actual messageboard. All things are not equal between messagebaords even discounting subject matter. Some boards out there are also a lot more spam friendly than FreeOnes is.
I think if you could somehow adjust things to equalize their different circumstances FreeOnes would be higher than it seems.
