So you may have noticed that unless you have the ability to make your own, user titles have been turned off. Quite frankly, I've always thought the auto-generated ones were shit and I've no idea who created them in the first place but they are now gone as we've turned them off.

Click on your username in the top right and go to 'Account details'.

If you can see an option to set a custom user title, you can - otherwise, if it doesn't show up - you can't.

No one really. I was being a smart ass. @Supafly is correct about the gag running stale. Initially it was odd seeing profiles without the silly words.

If I remember correctly way back in the day way closer to this board's infancy than today they came from the ideas from and input from many of the more dedicated board members way back then. It's hard to remember since I've been on this place for damn near 20 years. We tried to come up with clever user titles that would change every so often based on post count. I even think one of them was from me. There might even be a thread on here somewhere from that time. Damn if I'm going to bother searching for it.

Now is it a big deal either way that they're gone. Not really. I can see how they were corny from an outside context of people that came about much later. The only thing I might miss about them is that it's another reminder of a time back when this board was a much tighter knit and smaller community that was much closer to each other, and when there might have actually been real friendships between people on the board. It's not the titles themselves as it's a just another little reminder of what was lost over the course of decades at this place.

Many apologies for the downtimes and slowness you'll have experienced over the last few days. A combination of gremlins in the system, an update of some admin features and a local internet outage have contributed to this. Hopefully things will be back to normal within the next 24 hours at the latest.

Just to let you guys know, we're soon going to be adding a new sub-section to FreeOnes Talk dedicated to porn-related topics, and will start relocating some existing threads there accordingly. They will still exist inside Talk, just within a new sub-division, like the politics and sports sections we already have.

Things feel cluttered and disorganized the way things are at present, with a real mish-mash of subjects in the "general" threads which sit underneath all the various dedicated departments.

This will enable members to find topics of interest more easily and avoid the types of stuff they don't want to see or get involved in.

If you have any thoughts regarding this or ideas on how FreeOnes Talk or any other area of the forum could be improved then please post them here...

Unless you're getting a message that the IP address is banned, then I don't know why this would be.

And supposing it is an IP-related error message, let us know what it is (privately) and then we can look into it.

Yes, but it doesn't mean that someone using a VPN doesn't get assigned the same banned IP as someone else was using to post spam in the past.

It's not only specific IP address that can be banned, but IP ranges. e.g. ones starting 123.45

Someone else using a VPN asked me about something similar the other day and it turned out a Belgian IP range was being blocked because of spam issues in the past. It would've done the trick to stop the spam at the time, but it will have also shut out a lot of other well-intentioned users so it was a bit of a heavy-handed approach from whoever set it up.

It's become a minor thing, I can always pause the VPN for use on FreeOnes, and switch it back on when I am done, so it really is no big issue.

We're rolling this back, something that should have been done a looooooong time ago. Absolutely all pictures and discussions of performers have to be of those over the age of 18 ONLY. Anybody contrevening this rule will be immediately banned from the board. Fortunately we very rarely see any posts of this sort on here anyway but now it's official.
