FreeOnes 404?

its the freeones style 404. Just got on freeones now at 13:08 GMT, looks like it happens at completely random times.

Thats peachy ...

And it happens when you try to enter the main page freeones.com ? Or when you click on the galleries ? Please describe as detailed as possible so we can figure out where the bug is .. and fix it of course :)

Thanks in advance

If it happens again, please provide us with the results of the following:
  • open cmd.exe (Start - Run..., enter cmd en press ok)
enter "nslookup freeones.com" and copy the result in the reply
  • When you get the 404, do you see the freeones logo?
  • Try 64.131.84.201 as url and post the results

Freeones 404! I'm still thinking grad course.

I saw the title and still believed it was an advanced course in Freeones, and had heard it's pretty easy.

FRE404: "How to use the search function". An advanced course requiring a prerequisite of FRE301: "How to log on". Students are required to demonstrate a knowledge of the search engine, how to find the search button, and how to click it with the mouse are covered in depth. 4 credits. :jester:

results of cmd.exe thing:

DNS request timed out.
timeout was 2 seconds.
Non-authoritative answer:
Name: freeones.com
Address: 64.131.84.201

---------------------

I tried the IP in the url and still get the 404.

---------------------------

I thought I would make it easier for you and get a screen shot

imageshack has banned links to freeones. You'll have to make it a link that we can copy and paste or find another hosting site

I removed the "img" tags and now the link works with copy and paste.

Thanks.

First of all thanks for all the feedback and the screenshot. You've installed quite a lot of plugins (eg fasterfox.)

Can you please disable all caching / faster browsing related plugins and try again.

The reason I'm asking this is that I cannot find your requests in the main site server log files. It seems that all requests coming from your ip address are not directed to our servers (main site not the board) , but directly are served from your cache files/plugins.

Thanks in advance ... :)

I'VE BEEN BLOCKED FROM FREEONES!

Said my IP has been blocked because I am using a webcrawler which downloads websites to hard disks?????

what the hell is a webcrawler and how did I get it?

Google web accelerator isnt a web crawler is it?

thats the only thing I have that I can think of

Technically it isn't but the crawlers of Google Web Accelerator triggered our blocking mechanisms. The main reason for this is that the GWA webcrawlers wont listen to our robots.txt file (WTF ?!?! :helpme:)

I've implemented a new check to prevent this. It'll probably take a while to fix this because the GWA spiders need to crawl the new pages and therefor it is still possible you'll get blocked if you keep using GWA.

My advise is to disable GWA for a while and turn it back on in a couple of weeks to see if my changes worked :)

Or may be you don't want to turn it back on after reading this :

Thanks for the feedback

Thanks for the info Patrick, I could not believe what I was reading on that page. The most shocking was by far:

"Finally, Google admits on their own support page that any and all passwords, e-mail addresses etc. you enter in a web form (e. g. when purchasing an item online) will be funneled via their systems"

That is such a huge invasion of privacy that I no longer trust google. I will be uninstalling GWA immediately.

Thank you again for letting me and anyone else who reads this know about this.
