I personally prefer the compliment from a member saying a "nice sig" or "great sig" than actually winning a title for it.

I prefer when they tell me I have a nice sig AND when I win :1orglaugh



I think iamforever is refering to his outburst last week about sputnikgirls sig. Not sure what it was about though, because he never explained himself.

But if he is talking about his slayer sig that never won, THEN DAMN RIGHT IT'S A SHAM! that was the best signature ever!

I make my sigs for one person really, ME!. But it's always nice to hear that someone else likes them. But I don't need a title to tell me this.

SOTW is to honour the dedication, design and thought that the sig maker puts into his creation. But this means there very strong competition every week as most come up with a new one each week. But it doesn't mean that a losing sig is any worse than a winners. The reason being they are all winners in my book for different reasons. Some weeks I can't even pick one to vote for. Because they are just so good :thumbsup:

Actually that's a yes and no. Yes members are saying they like that sig. But no it doesn't mean they don't like the other sigs nominated.

I'm with Poggy on this one, I make my sigs for me, to express who I am, or wha I like, whatever. Yes i like getting compliments on them, but if I don't so what? Winning SOTW is not why i'm here, i'm here to converse with my friends and other members, and have some fun. You don't get money or anything for having SOTW. Who cares????? Some people just take some things way to damn seriously (not specifying anybody) It's all in good fun people!!!!

I have never had a sig win either. I think I got more than one vote only one time. To be honest I never thought my sig was the best in any given week, but it isn't like I think there is some SOTW conspiracy out there. Out of all "of the Week" threads this is probably the fairest, and has lead to this board having some of the best sigs on any messageboard I have ever been on. It's a nice little fun thing to see.

Also just like a piece of artwork anywhere else, it's 100% subjective in whether people like it or not. There are many factors that go into what I like, including the subject, lettering or fonts, placement, color, general artistic quality, technical brilliance, and so on. Sometimes it's just because I like it and can't explain why. This isn't just a competition on the users technical prowess in photo editing software. If it was we might as well just automatically hand the award to Dr.Death or Undertaker every week.

I dislike it when a member say that they like my sig. I have had members say they liked my sig, but when it is nominated for SOTW they dont vote for it. Then why the hell do you say you like it min the first place. Only two members have said they liked a sig and the actually voted for it (you know who you two are)

As the reason I saw it was removed, it was a advert for a website

Which IMO means it shouldn't be allowed to stand. As it has another motive and not just a sig.

Very nice signatures again and it is very difficult to pick one, which I complicated even more by nominating two... I couldn't decide whether I should vote for Dave_Rhino or for SandeeW.Fan and therefore I had to toss up to choose one...
