Former Reagan Administration Official Wants Pot Legal

Yet another positive step in the right direction! GOD DAMN I hope this **** gets legalized soon! Then I can smoke it without worrying about having to take a fucking **** test!

^I don't have a problem with people who smoke pot casually and don't obsess over it, and I can respect anyone who does, but I think the whole concept behind this demand for the legalization of weed is kind of ridiculous, IMO. It seems to be motivated not for the good of the country, but for the sole fact that some people, especially teens who get so fascinated with the party life/fad and think they're doing something oh so badass or risque, want to blaze up in front of everybody. If the primary reasons for people wanting it legalized is for selfish reasons, then I could care less about any potential money it could bring.

Do I think weed should be legalized in some way? Yeah, I do. I think it should be allowed in a more responsible and controlled public environment only though, like what you see with hookah bars, or smoking only sections etc. I don't want to see people who can't handle the high or ***** the fact that they can be under the influence of ********* freely coming into their jobs or classes stoned, and so on.

Again, I'm not badmouthing the supporters of ********* usage, I just think the majority of the users I've met don't present their argument in the best way, and tend to conform with the stereotype that all pot smokers are dead beat stoners.

That's just me though.

No I was saying once they legalize weed, then who is to say the argument will not shift to legalize *******, crystal meth and all the other ***** out there.

They will be happy for a while, but then the **** heads will come out and say if the pot heads get to have legalize *****, why can't we? That will go on for years. Then the meth addicts will come out and want it to be legalized.

I didn't say anything about people wanting to do it more in what you quoted. Or if someone doesn't do it they will automatically start because it is being sold in gas stations now rather than outside the gas station.

Who cares? :dunno:

I say legalize it all! Prohibition is not the answer. Look how well that worked for *******.

Legalize everything, then educate the hell outta people and let them make their own choices. I'm so fucking sick of the government protecting us from ourselves.

Michael Phelps smoked...look what happened to him? Ended up the best swimmer ever in the history of mankind!

Obama smoked...now he's running the most fucked up country in the world...ok bad example, point is he's not a dead beat!

There's hardly the same outcry for weed as there was for *******, though.

I've met some people who smoke pot, and are great, well-functioning people, so I can legitimately believe that there are responsible users that will go on to achieve greatness or fame, security, and all that. Maybe it's just that I've just seen a lot more people who had potential live up to the stoner stereotype than I have responsible people, I don't know.

there would be if enough people would just speak up! For fuck sake its the #1 cash crop in America! Yet its *******. Pretty sure there are enough users to justify legalization...

I agree 100% with this argument. The **** laws ******* a much older and unbreakable law....supply and demand. All ***** should be made legal, strictly regulated and heavily taxed. Imagine how much revenue is lost every year by financing the ridiculous "war on *****" in addition to potential taxes? Literally billions of dollars. Idiotic.

I feel the same way about prostitution and any type of ********. Legalize all of them.

Bingo, there is a way to reduce our defict without raising personal taxes.

We can also close all tax/corporate loopholes for all people and corporations. Imagine all the revenue that would create...if companies paid what they were supposed to pay, huh?

What's that have to do with Weed?

This is an old article. Friedman ****** away 3 years ago. :dunno:

Because his message lives still lives on ;) Seriously though, it goes to show not only hippies and liberal commies such as myself are not the only one's who are advocating and fighting for the legalization and decriminalization of all ***** :)

They should have picked somebody else to write about endorsing it. I have a hard time taking Milton Friedman seriously or even thinking he isn't an idiot.
