Forbes: Blue states are worst off financially than red states

Not only do many worse off countries balance their books better but even many third world countries where most of the population lives in abject poverty have less debt and balance the books better than not even just the USA but also the most well off states here. What's your point? Running a functioning civilization, actually caring about other human beings and not just oneself, and taking care of everybody in a fair way cost money. I don't think many of us are going to be jumping at a chance to move to one of those third world countries where we can struggle to feed ourselves and live miserable lives until we die. Maybe what's really needs is a way the nation as a whole can adjust to paying for those needed things, like making the more wealthy pay a lot more than they do, instead of having a Darwinistic survival of the fittest (or more accurately luckiest) social mentality to cut cost.

Good. :hatsoff:

Blue states used to be called red states.

The way it should be, because they are Socialist Communist states.

New York and California are definite red states.

What map do you look at? Never seen shade of true red in those two.

Conspiracy...
What map do you look at? Never seen shade of true red in those two.

That is because they changed the color code.

New York and California used to be colored red because they vote for Democrats. That's the way it should be colored.

Yes, I know these states were doing quite well until the housing crisis. But if I'm not mistaken, these Blue states have more larger urban population centers then the red states which means more competition for employment and less resources to redistsribute.

Do you know what was the major contributing factor to the current housing crisis? ;)

Barney Frank...

Close ;)

It was the Federal government tampering with the lending system under Clinton and Bush, in the noble cause of trying to get more Americans into houses. It reminds me of an old saying, "The greatest harm can be caused by trying to do good." It almost tanked our entire monetary system and we still haven't seen the bottom yet to the housing crisis...

I guess that is not really accurate.

AUSTIN, Texas – With the state facing a budget shortfall of at least $11 billion, Texas Gov. Rick Perry has spent almost $600,000 in public money during the past two years to live in a sprawling rental home in the hills above the capital, according to records obtained by The Associated Press.
