Firefox vs IE

I have a lower end Lenovo PC I bought at a discount- it should have XP as the OS, but has Vista. Had to ramp up the memory to 2GB. Which browser is better for Vista- Firefox or IE. Will Firefox make the browsing faster like it claims? Advantages/disadvantages of either? Thanks.

I don't have Vista yet, but all I use is Firefox. Waaaaaay safer. Plus that little burning fox icon is just so damn cute!

I like IE just because it seems faster and starts up quicker. It is a POS, yeah, but I go to the same sites all the time so I don't really need to worry about security much.

I'm using a Macbook now, so I am going to be using Safari now, and it seems awesome. Macs are just about virus proof as they are.

This is like saying that I make the same journey every day so I don't need to fasten my seat belt.Some nasties come from innocent well run sites which have been got at.

IE is intrinsically MUCH less secure against infection than any other browser;that's a consequence of the way it operates.I favour FF because of the enormous range of addons available from image zoom, auto slideshow and noscript.It can be made to emulate IE too so there's never any need to use this malware magnet.
Though not perfect (what is?) the advantages of FF over IE make the discussion into a no brainer.

A buddy of mine who's really computer-savvy once said of IE, "that browser has holes in it big enough for a hacker to drive a truck through."

FireFox with NoScript and Adblock Plus makes for happy web surfing.

IE is full of exploits due to its wide use. firefox is a hell of a lot safer but getting popular as fuck. prepare to have exploits targeted for firefox, but until then, use firefox. no contest. need we say more?

Firefox is trash I.E keeps it real no matter what the case. Or, you can look for another web browser, ask around and see what people say. you should seek professional help before you ask some random person online. they are mostly all liars

Depends on what IE we are talking about. If it is the new beta, stay the fuck away. I made the mistake of downlaoding IE8, and I'm paying for it. Half the time if I click on a link or even type a url in the address bar the thing will fucking crash. I never used to use FF all that often when I had IE7, but now that my new one sucks Chef's crusty ball sack, I've been using it and Safari way more often,
