My fav: a character called Thea for an old world of darkness MU* / MUD (text based game). It was a leveless, classless, application only, roleplay enforced game which was great. Most of the code seemed to be custom, and it was pretty small and tight knit. She was a mortal who was a bit of a junkie and roamed around New Orleans trying to sex everything alive, or at least that looked alive. She became an unknowing ghoul, only finding out what that was after getting caught between the crossfire or some unpleasant folks. I think I played her and a brothel running Toreador for almost 5 years!! I would play as soon as I got home from school every day and all weekends. Sometimes when I was getting picked on at school I'd hide under my desk so it looked like I'd gone in the mornings and then play all day.

I'm actually going to visit the guy who helped me with character creation the first time I played all the way in Sweden in July! We roleplayed regularly and chatted online for almost 10 years now, it's going to be amazing. Sadly that game has closed down now but a nWoD one has opened by one of the old players / STs so I just made a character for that and she should be very, very fun indeed!! I hope she gets approved! If she does this is who I'll be playing:

______________________________________

Vivian Collins: A paranoid and power hungry librarian. Demon touched but not known to the Lucifuge. She has no idea about her own powers and possibilities, but knows there is power to be had somehow after a series of visits by demons during the night, warning her of the Lucifuge and other creatures of the night.

She is opportunistic, independent, inquisitive, paranoid, scheming and rather amoral.

She is an Assistant University Archivist at the local university.

At her first year of university she met a demon. It spoke to her while she slept for over two years, telling her of her demon-touched blood and to be wary of people who would seek to harm her because of it. It told her many, many things but nothing in real detail. This made her start to loose her sanity, and become very paranoid. One night it showed itself to her. It said it felt a duty to protect her because of her heritage, and that it could teach and show her things she would need to protect herself- for a price, although it never said what that price would be. Just that she should think on what her life and her families life was worth and that she should pay attention to the world around her. She is waiting eagerly for it to return, and waiting to hear what that bargain might be and what power it could bring. She is researching mysterious events and looking more deeply into the occult and would pursue any leads at all which might lead her to more knowledge. Having heard tales of all matter of dark creatures she is interested in the powers the fae might have to offer and is actively attempting to seek them out. She is searching for hunters to study so she will know if they are truly a threat and if she really might need to deal with a demon.

Basically I wanted an excuse to be able to summon demons and bully other PCs into showing me how to get through the hedge so I can make deals with the fae (I hear they like babies...) and demons. Lotsa scarry shit out there, gotta find a way as a human to stay in the game :p

Who are you playing (or writing) right now, and who was your favorite character you played or wrote?

I'm old school classic Advanced Dungeons and Dragons first addition, haven't played in a long while.
My last 3 favorite Characters
My group rewrote a lot of the rules in our campaigns - so please everyone, no complaining about how you can't have that in the original TSR game

#3 A Dwarf Thief/Assassin (Chaotic Evil) had fun with him, despicable little bastard, created some clever tactics to stealing and assassinating, character even robbed a town by burning it down and setting traps for the fleeing victims. in the end he was to clever for his own good, finally got knocked off, in a clever con of his own making, which included a game of Russian Roulette with poison flasks, which he was immune to the poison but someone switched the poison with a curse potion which attracted everyone he had recently crossed.
Wish I could say he went out fighting but he went out like a punk, went to grab some one pick pocketing him and stuck his hand on their poisoned spike, failed saving throw but didn't die, greatly weakened he made a desperate attack on a second opponent and tripped a trip wire. fell through a make shift trap door. after that it got very Pulp Fiction-esk. got what he deserved.
My attempt at playing an Evil Character, got to about level 8 or 9 before he got whacked. still it was fun and even I was glad to see him get it eventually.

#2 a Monk - "with psionics" (Lawful Good) not an easy character to get up in level and ability, and i did it, only to loose him to a dragon, he went out trying to save a village. a fun selfless character to play. interesting story plots and twists playing a character not out for personal gain. was a challenge for the DM.

#1 - my first and best Character - a High Level Magic User (Neutral Good) - lived longer than my group did - fairly powerful had a magical short glasssteel gem sword he made from a magic gem. did some interesting things - character had the favor of an Elven Queen, (yes he nailed her, the King didn't mind either) got the Demon Demogorgon angry at him swearing revenge for the magical entrapment/banishment of his succubus- to another plain of existence. was going to start another campaign based on that linking the origins of the gem his sword was made from, but high school ended and people moved on, so it never really got started.

cool Characters fun times, hope to do it again some day.
Don't remember the stats on the Characters but they were high, we had a sort of cheat system when rolling for stats - not really cheating, the DM wanted to have a good campaign so he came up with bonus point system of rolling for stats.

Almost always being the GM means I didn't get to play characters in the conventional sense. Still one of the ones I liked the best was a gnome illusionist that owned his own ship. He would go on expeditions of discovery and trade around the continent for his gnome nation that payed him well, although he also had his own agendas for doing it he didn't tell them about. While the ship was normal size, everything inside of it and all it's controls were sized for gnomes which probably wasn't too fun for the players. The entire crew was gnomes, some of them his family members, like his kind-hearted but mentally unhinged older sister that was a cleric. He did of course wear a captains hat and had a parrot that sat on his shoulders (and believe it or not wasn't his familiar). Considering that he was a gnome the parrot liked gigantic and ridiculous sitting on top of him. Looking at him he looked like mostly hat, grey beard, and parrot.

The crew took pleasure in having other ships think they were weak and then crushing the pirates that tried to mess with them. They also liked to eat well and didn't have the standard crappy ship fare most vessels had.

im a DM exclusively now so, like rocky up there, i dont really get to play.

however, i do like my girl's eladrin character. she's hit level 5 and its quite the badass. 1d8+6 damage, +11 i think to attack rolls. AC of 20.

shes got this one attack called slash and pummel. she hits with her sword and then follows up with a punch with her shield hand for an extra 7 damage. she is also of good alignment and is the only one in the group who strives to "do the right thing." shes the voice of reason in all roleplay scenarios.

there's a githyanki pirate in the group who steals from everyone. even their unsuspecting sweet and innocent host. its gonna eventually come around to bite him in the ass. being the DM, i will make sure that happens. being a pocket checking looter, he's pricked his hands on some dangerous things.. those were warnings. next time.......

Your characters do sound fun. Psions always rock my socks to play though. You should play again! :D

We all know the word of the mod (or dm) is the word of god so its not cheating, just extra fun XD

Gnome sized items in a ":regular" sized place does sound like an amazing way to fuck with people- Im going to steal that! What a fun character, I can imagine a gnome with a giant parrot and it would look hilarious XD

Ugh, I hate goodie goodies! Playing a good paladin was the hardest rp as it seems I'm natural just a jerk in games XD

You totally shouldn't kill that pirate though. The punishment should fit the crime, or should be ridiculous imo. I play too much paranoia I think.

Don't forget to play yourself sometimes!!

I really have no clue at the moment, Petra stole my character sheet and I´ve yet to see what she´s done to it.

I may have struck a deal with a fea and turned in to changeling.... this may have happened... but if it did then it was for the good of the group! Cause I´m a team player, and thats how you play Vampire!

You forgot about Charlie already? For shame. At least he doesn't have to worry about any more body parts being cut off now.

Sure, sure it was for the good of the group. Isn't it always? :p Intend to use my summoned demons to bully bully a changeling into showing me how to find the hedge so I can offer the fae babies in exchange for "powers" :p

yeah, shes not so much of a goodie goodie though, shes just nicer than the rest to the NPCs. caring for the little girl all hiding alone in a boarded up house during the zombie migration, kindly accepting shelter from the towns noble's daughter. i expect our other female player who plays an elf to be equally as considerate, but she really isn't. a vast contrast to her real life personality.

of course, much later in the game the little girl is found dead and the pirate stole from the noble's daughter. it all comes back around. he did the ol switcharoo with his copper coins and her sack of gold. a moment that is often laughed about.

i dont plan on killing mr pirate, but i have been making him a little bit more cautious as he approaches his next pick-pocket victims. last time, i put a shiny object between a skeletons ribs that was chained to a wall. he couldnt resist,, and it sprung back to life and grabbed him good. scared him too. something in my kitchen fell and made a bunch of noise at the same time.

hilarious.

yeah, id like to play sometime. i want to be a pixie.

dont laugh.

Tisk tisk, players losing limbs left right and center in anything but paranoia isn't careful indeed. Poor Charlie

Well, Petra might have been the GM for that so it's not that inconceivable that maybe...maybe he doesn't deserve all the blame. Except, I'm sure Anders does have a tendency to perhaps not take the wisest course of action with his characters much of the time, and on the boards here it's pretty much mandatory that everybody blame Anders for everything we can, even more so when it's his fault. ;)

Cult Mother and Simpering Cunt
My current character (that I haven't played in 2 years now LOL) is a Tremere called Kali.

Kali is an elder, was born in 17th century to a priestess in a temple dedicated to Kali. Her mother died at the birth, but the head priestess "saw" Kali go into the baby (I later learned it's a fucking demon...damned flaws LOL). Kali had a pretty horrible upbringing in the temple to honor Kali's violent side. At some point the Tremere came knocking at her door and embraced her and she went to a bigger city to learn the Path of Karma from a famous kindred guru.

Later, after the whole fiasco at Ceoris (for those that don't know vampire lore, it was a sort of civil war and then divide of the clan) and the move to the new chantry, Kali kind of decided fuck this shit. She was awoken in 2015 and was sent to Liberty Alaska where she ended up being a complete key figure in a huuuuuge fight against a Baali elder.

After that she ended up in Chicago and was being groomed to take over the local chantry. When I stopped playing, she was in all effects taking over as Regent and Primogen.

Kali was really fun to play. She was embraced at 16 and an elder coming into the modern world, she was very child like. This was cool since there was a child cappadocian elder that had just awoken as well and they spent a lot of time playing.

The Path of Karma was pretty damned awesome too. Kali was a support character all the way, but through the path of Karma she could read people's pasts and future which helped the group a lot. So much that she really didn't need any offensive skills, they'd fight to the death to make sure she stayed alive. In fact, she had a hunted flaw and everything that came hunting her ended up as a friend eventually. That frustrated the ST to no end.

Her biggest fault was she was very holy (ended up with True faith 3 I think), ended up leaving the road of humanity for her own road of kali, and she was honest to a letter.

I have other favorites I'll write about. Including my favorite NPCs to torment players with.
