Being young and living close to the Seattle area in the 90s was great. My good friend's aunt lives right next door to the Cobains.

But, I think my two favorite songs are Nirvana's version of "where did you ***** last night" and "lake of fire."

Nirvana are extremely overrated, but that doesn't mean they are not a good band. My vote went for Something In The Way, just because I never get bored of hearing it.

It's a shame Smells Like Teen Spirit is so over played and praised, I can't listen to it and think "what a great song" anymore, all I think is "oh no, not again..."

Maybe today's radio, given the current Clear Channel mediaopoly we live under, has lessened Smells Like Teen Spirit's impact. But in 1991..this song was the closest thing to creating a revolution for 20-somethings. Laugh at that today, but that really is the truth. The video might STILL TODAY be the greatest video ever second only to "Thriller"...

A revolution to people that did not pay attention to alternative music prior to 1991.

Smells like Teen Spirit is still a great song though!
