Favorite local eateries

Re: Favorite eateries

Joe's Crab Shack
Primanti Brothers
Red Lobster
Red Robin

That's not what I had in mind when I started the thread. Joe's Crab Shack is the same thing in Louisville as it is in San Francisco. That really doesn't help someone traveling to a new city find a place to eat because it's not something unique to that place. Maybe I should edit the thread title so people who don't bother to read the thread have a better idea of what the thread is about. :dunno:

Minneapolis, MN - get the Juicy Lucy at the 5-8 Club.

Buffalo, NY - get buffalo wings at the Anchor Bar.

At Johnny's Italian Steakhouse (Iowa, Illinois & Omaha), get the Sausage Bread.

St. Louis, MO - get the Creme Brulee at the Hyatt Regency by Busch Stadium

It's weird you started this thread of all people. The lady and I are planning a trip to San Fran in October to see the 9ers play amongst other things and I've been googling restaurants but the ones you've mentioned never came up. I guess that's how it goes.

At the hotel I work at, we have pamphlets we leave out with food and ***** recommendations, but none of them are nearly as good as the ones the staff suggests.

And as for reasons for being in Windsor, you're pretty dead on, BUT, we have guests at the hotel who come to Windsor from all over North America specifically to eat at TBQ's. It's been featured on Food Network Canada on a show called You Gotta Eat Here, which is basically the same as Guy Fieri's Diners show. Which reminds me...

Bubi's. Garlic heaven, right on the river. It's a burger joint and they have a huge selection of burgers. I eat here regularly, I don't know how I forgot, but it was also featured on Food Network Canada.

If anybody is interested...^^^

I couldn't find video of their segment on TBQ's. You can see one of my best friends walking around in the kitchen. Kinda cool.

The Food Network is in Windsor right now to feature a restaurant Premium Link Upgrade called Smoke and Spice. Fucccccking delicious. They've been filming the past couple of days. I wish I had known, I would have been there stuffing my face for all you to see.

I got video and The Food Network backin me up. What ya'll got??

Las Vegas, NV - The Triple Play at Decatur and Oakey. One of the few places in the west where you can get a decent cheesesteak. The rest of the menu is good too. And Triple Play has the only 6 feet of bar surface in Vegas that doesn't have video slot/poker machines.

Longhorn Casino on Boulder Hwy. Always has a good crowd because the food is exceptional. Don't let the low prices fool you. The $4.99 chicken fried steak and eggs special is one of the best combos of this type I have ever had (and I have had it often).

Ok, time to bump this thread.

Here's one I found on my recent trip to Vancouver: the Premium Link Upgrade . It's a German restaurant and social club located on the corner of Victoria and 33rd Avenue. They have a decent selection of German **** on tap. Their schnitzels, spätzle, and Gebackene Leber Berliner Art (Berlin-style breaded beef liver) are delicious, and the portions are pretty big. They have daily specials, which are served as three-course meals consisting of soup/salad, entree, and dessert, for about $18 bucks. Tuesdays are schnitzel days, and a full schnitzel meal is $12 bucks. I found it to be a bit pricey (just like everything else in Vancouver), but well worth it.
