When you book you stack the card a certain way. You want your Extreme match to still appear extreme so it should have extreme contrast from the rest of the matches so it stands out.
That was part of the problem, for me. There was no reason for Kross vs McIntyre to be a strap match as it was their first match. It should have been a regular fight and then Kross wins by suspect means and next time they do a gimmick match.First blood, Inferno, etc... there are lots of fun gimmicks to choose from, and as long as there is a basis for picking that match in the storyline, I'm sold.
I guess with that one it could be a way of hiding Kross's deficiencies, but they can't keep covering for him if they want him in the world title picture. They should have booked a normal match with more intelligence, then have a strap match next.I agree there was no reason for the Strap Match. Why not build and extend things a bit? Tell a story. Have psychology that makes sense making it clear why there is a conflict.

Glad I saw it before AEW got its hands on it. It didn't look that bad, which I guess says a lot about how other people can sell the move. I don't think it's that rare to see the receiver do a full backflip to sell it. Not sure if Page intended to do that here, if he just blanked out or Mox did something wrong. Either way, good to see them call the match, instead of use a "quick finish" like WWE usually does. You guys watch Jon Moxley vs Adam Page on Tuesday? Adam Page took a clothesline from Moxley and when he sold it by flipping backwards he landed badly and got a concussion. The match was stopped as the medical staff brought in a giant spatula to scrape Adam off the canvas.

A quick comparison of the ladies and their high kicks from recent matches:
Roxy kicking as high as she can barely reaches your shoulder:

While Dakota can take your head clean off even if you're sitting on the top rope:

According to wiki, she's just over 5ft. She's basically AJ Lee 2.0. down to the size.Is Roxanne Perez even 5 feet tall? She's so cute you just wanna eat her.

Fun Fact: Bailey was talking about how LaRae was her inspiration when she started out, making it 20 years since she started wrestling.
So LaRae has been wrestling since Rok-C has been alive. I'd say she looks good for her age!
I believe she also wrestled in Dansoku's DDT. Although I don't think she was any any crazy/sex matches.I agree. Candace looks great. Candace is 37 and has been wrestling for 20 years now starting in 2002.

I'm a fan of Storm, but that suplex looked sloppy and came pretty close to an injury.
I think wrestlers need to aim for suplexes like those of Alicia Fox, Taz or the Joshi girls if they're going to use the move.
She really has that cute look, and as commentary says a "cool mom". I do wonder what the rationale was on bringing her back after not renewing the contract - did they do it to avoid a discrimination allegation since she just came off maternity, or did they bring her back for a purpose?Candace used to do a lot of Intergender Matches while she was booked at PWG. She does a variety of things but I'm not sure how crazy a gimmick match that she has done. She's always been a solid talent and she has a great smile for the camera.
Enhancement talent could never criticize or complain (unless especially egregious) since it would not only kill any chance of being called back, but could also blackball them from other feds as well. Taking it and "thanking them" is really the only option, so like you said, her defending Athena means nothing. That said, I haven't seen much of Athena outside of her work as Moon, and I know nothing of this "Jody", so I'm not a good judge on whether she was being safe.A lot of stuff in AEW is sloppy in general. In WWE they have more professional agents(producers) who are there to supervise the match and even discipline the competitors if things get out of hand or they're doing stuff they have no business doing.
This match has been spoken about this week, Athena looked pretty reckless slinging that girl over the top rope like that. It doesn't matter if the other girl consented to it either.
