Yeah. I looked for this thread over in the Sports sub-forum. Then I came here, figuring FreeOnes would just jam WIllie in with the rest. Major blow in the world of sports, which has taken quite a beating of late. I wasn't a Giants or Mets fan back in the day, but I remember the networks followed Mays' HR run. He was one of the best power-hitters in history, but with deceivingly good base speed. I'm downloading the HBO doc from a couple of years ago as we type.

I also liked him, albeit in a way perhaps noone else did.. in 'Backdraft' as the imprisoned arsonist.
It wasnt an amazing role, per se.. but it's as memorable as ever SOLELY because of Sutherland's presence.
Kinda like 7 psychopaths and Christopher Walken. I couldnt tell you much about the 7, but I could tell you that a good actor can make a few lines last forever.

I'm wondering if Pauly Shore is still going to make a movie about him. It was amazing how much Shore looked like him, in the pictures I saw. My he rest in peace.
